If you’re looking for a fun family outing that’s got a sky-high wow-factor and keeps the kids entertained, let me introduce you to the Sky View Deck Tour at Optus Stadium – Perth’s very own world-class stadium with views, vibes, and a whole lot of fun! I recently did this tour with my three kids (aged 8, 9, and 14), and let me tell you – it was a hit for all ages! From sporty teens to curious little adventurers, there was something for everyone, and none of us wanted it to end.

This is the only tour where you can visit the roof of Optus Stadium without a harness – yes, you read that right! No climbing gear or nerves of steel required. Just hop in the lift, take a short walk, and boom – you’re standing high above the stadium with breathtaking views of the city skyline, Swan River, and the massive field below. It’s a totally new way to experience the stadium – literally from the top!

You can also bring your own phone or camera to snap as many pics as you like – and trust me, you’ll want to! The photo ops up there are incredible.

But the tour doesn’t just take you to the roof. You’ll also get the chance to explore level one, sit in the stands, and admire the empty oval. I was honestly in awe of how vastly different the stadium feels when it’s completely empty – peaceful and powerful all at once.

Next up, you’ll hop in the food and beverage lift (yes, that’s a thing!) to level five, where you’ll stand right underneath one of the giant screens. And here’s a fun fact: Optus Stadium has the largest stadium video screens in the Southern Hemisphere, each spanning a whopping 340 square metres. That’s big enough to literally build a house on! Also, a hot tip from our tour guide: Coop & Co. Chicken on level five apparently has the best Butter Chicken in the entire stadium.

To wrap up, you’ll make your way back to THE OZONE headquarters via the basement, with a few more fun facts along the way.

A massive shoutout goes to our incredible tour guide AJ. He was not only packed with cool facts and behind-the-scenes stories, but also handled the non-stop questions from my boys like an absolute pro. I’m pretty sure they were testing him at one point, but AJ didn’t miss a beat – funny, knowledgeable, and super patient.

And the best part? It’s affordable! Tickets are just $25 for adults and $18 for kids, with concession and family discounts available. Compared to other rooftop experiences at Optus like the Stadium Tour, HALO Rooftop Climb, Vertigo Experience, or Game Day Rooftop Experience (which all involve harnesses), this one’s perfect for families with younger kids or anyone who just wants the view without the adrenaline.

All up, the Sky View Deck Tour was fun, educational, easy-going, and something really unique for the whole family. Highly recommend it for your next weekend adventure – just make sure you bring your camera, your questions, and your sense of wonder!
