Dreams of a Lonely Planet
Your once in a lifetime journey awaits, are you ready to follow your heart?
Down here on Earth, Boy feels nervous and confused. All he wants is to be alone and far away from judgemental eyes. Follow him to the moon and go fishing for stars in this enchanting serenade for the young and young at heart. From the 2025 Winners of the WA Fringe World Children’s Events Award comes a tender and curious exploration of identity and belonging. Through an imaginative mix of contemporary dance and shadow puppetry we escape through the blanket fort into surreal worlds where bicycles can fly us towards new adventures! โDevised by performers who know how to draw an audience (young and old) into a place of rapturous, wide-eyed wonder.โ (Seesaw Magazine) โTowards the end one begins to suspect this is not, in fact, a playful space-themed childrenโs dance performance, but a metaphor for infatuation, heartbreak, loss, and letting go.โ (Arts Hub)
Age suitability: For intergenerational audiences with a target of children aged 7 โ 12, their teachers, families and grandparents.
WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING ABOUT THE SHOW
โEntertaining, fun, uplifting, beautifully colourful and musical, lovely delicate singing.โ โIt was so charming and delightful that we went back a second time! A nostalgic dreamland perhaps forgotten to many of us.โ โCreative theatre involving different genres of dance, mime, shadow puppetry and music – appealing to all ages – inspiring.โ

Beauty is on the Inside
An everyday object transformed – lift the lid and peer inside. This installation by Roly Skender will show you that beauty often hides where we least expect it. Beauty is on the Inside is an original audiovisual installation that transforms an everyday object into an unexpected viewing portal. At first glance, it appears unremarkable – just a perfectly normal white toilet sitting unused in the foyer of a public libraryโฆ until the lid is lifted. Whatโs inside will invite a moment of surprise and reflection. The contrast between exterior and interior challenges audiences to reconsider what they deem worthy of attention. The work playfully blurs the line between the mundane and the magical, offering a surprising encounter that rewards curiosity. Beauty is on the Inside reminds us that value, wonder, and beauty are frequently hidden just beneath the surface – waiting for someone to pause, engage, and look a little deeper. Session times
- Session 1 โ 9:00am
- Session 2 -11:00am
The workshop sessions would be open to any participant over the age of 6.
Freestyle Now squad members would be present to offer participants technical advice, trick tips, skill development and skatepark etiquette.

Our facilitators analyze the participants skill level and work from that base and assist with confidence building. Skills can be taught but confidence cannot. It is important to not only just focus on skill building but confidence as well. By using their own skill base as a stepping stone we are able to help them advance. Our instructors speak the participantโs language and speak on their level. Our instructors relay this safety message to our participants and reiterate the importance of helmets and how they can minimize injuries.
Participants are split up into groups based on their skills and or what is required to learn.
All participants would need their own equipment and would also be required to wear a helmet and closed in shoes. Participants with defective scooters may not be able to participate. Our facilitators are not able to make repairs to participants scooters during the coaching session.
Participants under the age of 6 will be taken on their ability to understand and follow instructions and to control their apparatus.
Key points

โข Participants must be wearing a helmet
โข Please remember to bring some water and wear sunscreen

- How to prepare yourself and your toddler for success
- Strategies for getting startedโand what to do if things donโt go to plan
