Rockface Indoor Rock Climbing Review
Rockface Indoor Rock Climbing Centre is a great place for a family outing! Rockface is an excellent choice for everyone, from beginners to experts. This indoor rock climbing centre offers a safe environment that’s fun to both climb and watch.
Rockface took Perth‘s indoor climbing by storm with its impressive facilities and affordable prices when it originally opened in Northbridge, Perth City. Having now outgrown its premises, Rockface has located to a brand new, larger facility in Balcatta. The Climbing Centre has everything from top-rope climbing, lead climbing (coming soon), bouldering to yoga classes, kids classes, and even a cafe.
Rockface offers a safe and fun environment for kids of all ages. There is no minimum age for climbers. They have a small dedicated bouldering wall for little kids to scramble around on. The holds feature cute shapes such as flowers and animals.
The climbing walls offer varying levels of difficulty, so everyone from the first-timer to the expert climber can be challenged and have fun. For the Top Rope climbing, where the climber is attached to a rope and pulley to protect from falling, you will need to have a climbing partner to stand at the bottom and control the rope (belay). If you haven’t belayed before, don’t worry, it’s easy to get the hang of, and everyone is instructed on how to belay before they start climbing. Children aged 12 and over can perform the role of climbing partner. If you are taking on Climbing partner’s role, you are not required to pay the climbing fee, but you will need to rent a harness if you don’t have your own.
Rockface also features an extensive bouldering wall. Bouldering takes place on a lower wall without a rope or harness and has a large crash pad to cushion climbers should they fall.
Rockface has a small café serving snacks and cold drinks. You are welcome to bring in your own food, you can even order yourself an UberEats if you wish!
Rockface also has a dedicated climbing shop where you’ll find all the equipment you could ask for, from the most basic to the most advanced.
Rockface is a fun, safe, and social place for the whole family to come and play. They offer a variety of courses and programs for all ages and skill levels. They also offer birthday parties, youth group programs, school holiday workshops and corporate events to help you have a blast! There’s plenty of parking, air-conditioning and a friendly, supportive atmosphere for all ages and abilities.
If you are planning on visiting Rockface, you are only required to book in advance if there are more than six people in your group. There is no session duration, and the entry fee covers the full day, meaning you stay as long as you wish.
Rock climbing is a great way to get a workout, have fun with friends and family and learn new skills. If you’ve never been before, go along and try it out!
