Leapfrogs Restaurant and Cafe is a favourite family restaurant set amongst the beautiful Wanneroo Botanical Gardens. This makes it the perfect spot for a bit of lunch and mini golf!
Leapfrogs’ casual, but funky, alfresco dining area is mainly covered with a spacious indoor dining area as well. The always bustling spot is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner with varying hours throughout the week.
The Food
There’s a huge menu that’s full of all sorts of food to enjoy. On our recent visit, we tried the “Carnivore” pizza, topped with prosciutto, pepperoni, ham, bacon, chorizo and mozzarella cheese – a meat lover’s dream!
We also enjoyed the Fish and Chips which comes with a large portion of garden or Greek salad and pickled onions.
The Chorizo and Prawn Linguine was another standout.
From kids menu, our kids devoured the Cheeseburger and Chips, while the Kids Pasta with Italian tomato and basil sauce topped with parmesan was another hit.
And if you have room – there’s always the dessert pizza topped with marshmallows, chocolate custard, crumble and double cream! It’s got to be tried.
During the winter months, the Sunday roast dinner is a winner. Quality meat and large portions make it the perfect comfort food for those cooler days.
The Gardens and Golf
While you’re enjoying brunch, lunch or dinner at Leapfrogs, walking off all that delicious food with a game of golf is always a great idea. The Wanneroo Botanical Gardens are home to not one, but two mini golf courses. As well as a regular 18 hole course, there is also a Billiard Golf course, which is slightly different to regular mini golf. Both are lots of fun!
For an extra special experience, you can combine your evening visit with Glow Mini Golf, where you can explore the gardens at night with light-up LED golf balls.
If you’re craving something sweet after your meal, stop by the mini golf kiosk for a delicious ice cream – perfect for enjoying as you wander through the gardens.
Kids will love exploring all the little pathways around the gardens. Be sure to watch little ones around the water features.
If you plan to visit over the Christmas period, it is advisable to book well in advance to combine dinner with the Magic of Christmas light display, which transforms the gardens with over 150,000 twinkling lights.
Bookings are recommended at Leapfrogs Café in Wanneroo, as it gets busy during evenings, particularly on weekends when there is often live acoustic entertainment. Leapfrogs is a top spot for a tasty family meal at any time of day!
