Hidden Valley Eco Lodges and Day Spa – Why should kids have all the fun? If you are looking for an adults only retreat then Hidden Valley Eco Lodges and Day Spa located in Pickering Brook is the place to go. You can choose to either stay in one of the luxury self contained Eco lodges or even just head up there for the day to indulge in one of their day spa treatments.
From the moment we arrived for our night away, it was like we were in another world. Surrounded by forest and nature, you instantly feel miles away from the hustle and bustle of the city, while still being only 30 minutes out of Perth. One of the great things about staying here is the fact that there are only 5 lodges, so we felt like we were the only ones there.
We were instantly greeted at the reception by a lovely lady, who showed us to our room, which was a short walk down through the bush. We were shown around our lodge, which was amazing by the way! The champagne was on ice waiting for us, they were even nice enough to bring us a non alcoholic replacement when they found out I was pregnant. They had soft music playing for us and the room smelt amazing.
Once we were shown around, we were left to do what we came to do, RELAX! First thing I had to do though of course, was check out all the cupboards. Robes in the bathroom, complimentary popcorn, hot chocolate, biscuits, orange juice, tea and coffee were all some of the treasures I found. I was particularly excited about the fact we had a coffee pod machine with complimentary pods.
I grabbed a glass of orange juice and decided to jump in the spa, oh yeah, did I mention the SPA! Your own private Jacuzzi is pre heated and located on the outside deck, this was heaven. I spent a long time just sitting in it, looking through the forest and just listening to the birds.
After a very relaxing spa, I headed inside, grabbed my book and lay on the huge day lounge that also has an amazing view of the forest through the large glass windows. You also have the option of borrowing a complimentary DVD or board game from the reception if you wish.
There are a few dining options available, even though they don’t have a restaurant as such. You can choose to have a dinner hamper made up for you to cook at your own leisure, you have a private bbq on the deck also! Or you can head out to Core Cider house or even Mason Mill which are really close by.
As a part of our special deal that was on for the month, we got a complimentary breakfast hamper (usually $35) which we could cook in our own time, of course hubby cooked breakfast on the bbq while I watched on from the comfort of the spa.
Hidden Valley Eco Lodges was a little pricey, but we thought it was well worth it, the little touches made a huge difference and we will be definitely coming back again for another kid free weekend away. Next time, I shall add a spa treatment to my package, because everyone deserves a little pampering.
