No trip down south is complete without a stop for something sweet, and Little Otto’s Big Choc Shop in Busselton is a delicious addition to the foreshore. Found on Marine Terrace, this fun and colourful chocolate shop is hard to resist, especially if you have little chocolate lovers in tow.

Little Otto’s is all about saving visitors from “boring choc”, and the shop certainly delivers on that promise. Inside you’ll find shelves and cabinets packed with tempting treats, from choccy bars and rocky road to chocolate-coated goodies, buttons, drinking chocolate and other Otto’s creations. It is the sort of place where you pop in for a quick look and leave with a bag full of treats.

One of the highlights for families is the Little Otto’s factory tour. At 2pm each day, visitors can book in for a short but very sweet look behind the scenes. Pre-booking via the Little Otto’s website is recommended. After donning a hair net, you are taken out the back to see what the team is working on, and if you are lucky, there may even be a little sample along the way.

The tour is only brief, lasting around 10 to 15 minutes, but it is a fun addition to a Busselton day out. Staff are friendly and happy to answer questions, making it a great little experience for curious kids who want to know how all that delicious chocolate comes together.

Back on the shop floor, there is plenty more to enjoy. Visitors may have the chance to taste some of the chocolate bark on offer before browsing the range of sweet treats. The shop has a playful feel, with little interactive stations for tiny humans to enjoy while grown-ups attempt to decide what to buy.

Kids can play the memory game, smell the chocolate, answer questions in a quirky way and even make a phone call for story time. These small interactive touches make Little Otto’s more than just a chocolate shop, giving families a reason to linger a little longer.

Little Otto’s also has more happening beyond the shop and factory tours, with their website listing experiences such as Party at Otto’s, S’more Nights and bike hire. It is worth checking the official website before visiting to see what is currently available, especially during school holidays or busy weekends.

Be warned, it is almost impossible to walk out empty-handed. Whether you choose chocolate-coated honeycomb, rocky road, choccy buttons, drinking chocolate or a take-home gift, Little Otto’s is a sweet stop to add to your Busselton itinerary.
