Next time you are near City West Centre, why don’t you give this hidden gem a try? Forklore Café is just located on the other side of Scitech and they serve up some of the best Asian fusion breakfast/ brunch and coffee! Not only that, they have a huge selection of their speciality pastries and cakes that will satisfy all cravings!
We were there for lunch on a weekday and the place was already full but we didn’t have to wait for long for a table. The place was well lit giving it a fresh and nice atmosphere when walking in.
Their beverages menu is so extensive making it hard to decide what to drink!
The girls got the orange and apple cold pressed juice, which was super fresh and tasty!
The matcha latte and coffee are all on point as well!
The brunch menu included a gluten-free option. The chefs’ creativity can be seen in the unique touches they add to local Asian dishes. On the weekends, they have weekend specials, so there’s always something new to try.
The kids’ menu is decently priced at $9.5, though there are only two selections to choose from. Missy 6 got the kid’s scrambled egg that came along with a decent piece of sourdough toast. I have to say the scrambled egg is cooked to perfection- velvety and smooth tasting!
Missy 9 opted for the Chicken Katsu Sando, which was generous in portion. The sando came with a huge chunky piece of crispy and juicy fried chicken, paired perfectly with the toasted sando bread.
The Hambagu Omurice was the crowd favourite. The beef patty was incredibly soft and juicy, and the ketchup fried rice (hidden underneath the eggs) was a hit with the kids, and they kept asking for more!
And you got to save some tummy space for their pastries for dessert!
There is a huge selection of pastries on display daily, each with a unique Asian twist!
Folklore is a family-friendly cafe with plenty of seating available both indoors and outdoors. It is definitely worth a try next time if you are stuck for food ideas at Scitech! Baby chairs are available, and toilets and parents’ rooms are conveniently located just outside the shop in the building. . Free 2-hour parking is available at City West Centre car park if not there is street parking alongside as well.
