Village Beach, Wannanup

You may have heard of The Lido in Mandurah (If not check it out!), however this can get so super busy, so if you’re looking for something similar, then welcome to the hidden gem of Village Beach located in Wannanup just 15 minutes away from Mandurah.

This little spot has it all, perfect for a family beach day this summer!

Located on the canals this man-made beach makes for a great child-friendly beach as it is nice and calm and flat, with sand to play or grass surrounding the beach to sit and have a picnic.

When looking for a spot to spend the day in, I like having all the facilities I need within one area. Village Beach has BBQs to cook on, plenty of parking, an undercover seating area to eat, plenty of grass to have a picnic or play ball games as we did, clean toilets, a water fountain and a playground. Also located just around the corner is the Piazza Port Bouvard, where you can buy some basics if need be.

I will suggest, however bringing some kind of shade with you though if you plan to spend the day, as apart from the playground and the BBQ area there wasn’t much shade.

And finally, a little tip for you, if you’re a kayak or SUP lover like us, this would be a great base to park and up then explore the canals. The beach is so close to the car park and has an easily accessible ramp to get your kayak or SUP to the water, making it the perfect place to launch off.
