A long-awaited kiosk has opened at Perth Hills favourite, Lake Leschenaultia. The Flackseed isn’t any ordinary kiosk, it’s run by hospo power couple Em and Nik Flack.
The Flackseed is here to make your family days out even better – especially if you’re not organised enough to bring along a picnic (like me!). This new local gem run by the award-winning Flack family, is serving up delicious takeaway eats with a gourmet twist. The Flackseed’s brand new menu is inspired by Aussie flora and fauna. Current at Jan 2025, the menu is evolving – here’s our experience from their opening week.
After a morning of swimming, riding bikes, paddling in canoes, and playing on the sand, nothing beats their hot chips dusted with house-made seasoning.
Got a picky eater? The ‘AUSage rolls went down a treat – even with Miss 8. The tasty rolls are house-made and contain a mix of beef and kangaroo meat – plus 5 hidden veggies! Shhhhh 😉
For cool treats, there’s artisan icy poles, plus ice creams with homemade ice magic. The kids opted to try the slushies, with no nasties (elderberry, hibiscus, strawberry gum, rosella) – two out of three of them like the Aussie flavours. You can’t win them all lol
For parents, there’s top-notch coffee, artisan cool drinks, grazing boards and fresh nourish bowls to refuel while you watch the kids splash around.
The kiosk is conveniently close to the new train themed nature playground.
Open 7 days throughout the summer school holidays, check their socials for regular opening hours. The Flackseed is ready to fuel your family adventures at Lake Lesch. Don’t forget to pack a picnic blanket for the shady spots.
Make Lake Leschenaultia your go-to Perth Hills escape for family fun, fabulous food, and nature-filled memories.
