Exciting news for Perth families and thrill-seekers! PowerPlay is set to open its third Western Australian indoor go karting centre in Malaga on Friday, October 4th. This new two-level track will join PowerPlay’s existing popular locations in Joondalup and Bibra Lake.
The Malaga track promises an adrenaline-pumping experience for racers of all skill levels. Featuring hairpin bends, sweeping corners, a longer bridge, and even a tunnel with working headlights on the karts, this state-of-the-art facility is designed to challenge and delight drivers.
PowerPlay’s electric go karts offer instant acceleration up to 70km/h, providing an exciting yet eco-friendly racing experience. The extra-wide track allows for fast cornering and power slides, letting racers channel their inner Formula 1 driver.
Safety is a top priority at PowerPlay. The world-class safety system can control kart speeds and instantly shut off vehicles if needed. This makes it an ideal activity for families, as children as young as 10 years old (and at least 140cm tall) can participate.
I took my 13-year-old daughter to try out the new PowerPlay track in Malaga, and it was an absolute hit!
When we hit the track, I was impressed by how quickly my daughter adapted to the electric kart. At first, she was a bit hesitant, carefully navigating the corners and keeping a steady pace. But as the race progressed, it was amazing to watch her confidence grow. By the third lap, she was taking corners with more speed and even attempted a few power slides!
After our session, my daughter gave the experience a massive thumbs up. She couldn’t stop talking about how much fun she had and was already asking when we could come back. As a parent, it was fantastic to see her push her boundaries and develop new skills in such a safe and controlled environment.
For those who want to capture their racing experience, PowerPlay Malaga offers helmet cameras for hire. This feature allows you to record your entire race from a first-person perspective. After your session, the footage is easily downloadable, making it convenient to share your best moments on social media or analyse your performance later. It’s a great way to relive the excitement of your race and show off your skills to friends and family.
Glenn Macneall, PowerPlay’s CEO and an experienced rally driver, emphasizes that the venue caters to everyone from first-timers to seasoned karting enthusiasts. The knowledgeable staff are always ready to offer tips to help improve lap times.
In addition to casual racing, PowerPlay Malaga will be available for private functions, corporate events, team building days, and parties. The venue can accommodate up to 100 people, making it perfect for birthdays and group outings.
While the main attraction is undoubtedly the go-karts, PowerPlay Malaga has ensured that the fun doesn’t stop when you’re off the track. The facility features a selection of arcade machines to keep you entertained while you wait for your turn to race.
Although there isn’t a full-service café on-site, a well-stocked vending machine offers a variety of snacks and cold drinks to quench your thirst after an adrenaline-pumping race.
PowerPlay Malaga is located at 2/670 Marshall Road. Operating hours are 10am to 9pm on weekdays, and 9am to 9pm on weekends and during school holidays.
For Perth families looking for an exciting day out that will get hearts racing, PowerPlay’s new Malaga track is sure to deliver high-octane fun for all ages!
