Nestled along the northern coast of Perth, the Mindarie Foreshore Trail is one of the northern suburbsโ€™ most scenic and accessible beachside pathways. Stretching through the coastal suburb of Mindarie, the trail offers a beautiful blend of ocean views, secluded beaches, and opportunities for wildlife spottingโ€”making it a favourite among walkers, joggers, cyclists, and nature lovers alike.

For families, this is an ideal foreshore trail. With gentle gradients, minimal inclines, and plenty of picturesque lookouts, it offers a far more relaxed experience than many other coastal walks.

Parking is best found at Mindarie Keys Beach, where the trail begins and leads north toward Quinns Rocks, following the rugged limestone coastline. Along the way, walkers are treated to views of Mindarie Marina and distant glimpses of the Rottnest Island coastline.

The trail is well paved, making it suitable for kids on scooters or bikes, and clear markings help keep everyone safely to one side for passing cyclists. Compared to other northern coastal walks such as Burns Beach or Scarborough, this path is noticeably quieter, adding to its calm and laid-back vibe.

At the very beginning of the trailโ€”just to the left of a large palm treeโ€”youโ€™ll find Mindarie Keys Beach, a secluded and rugged stretch of coastline. While itโ€™s not ideal for swimming due to submerged rocks, itโ€™s a fantastic spot for children (with parental supervision) to explore rock pools and discover coastal critters.

As the trail continues, there are numerous interpretive signs installed by the City of Wanneroo. These information points share insights into the areaโ€™s history, its Noongar connection, and the surrounding natural environment, adding depth and educational value to the walk.

Another notable feature along the trail is a nesting tower designed to encourage local seabirds. During breeding season, this platform can sometimes offer the chance to spot an osprey and its young, a special highlight for birdwatchers.

What truly sets this walk apart is its proximity to amenities. Public toilets are located at the start of the trail, and Mindarie Marina is just a stoneโ€™s throw away. The marina boasts a lively selection of cafรฉs, restaurants, and barsโ€”perfect for unwinding after your walk or enjoying a meal or sunset by the water.

Alternatively, Rosslare Park and Quinns Beach are nearby, both offering shaded areas, playgrounds, and picnic facilities. These family-friendly spots make ideal stops for leisurely breaks or full-day outings.
