Warradale Park in Landsdale is home to one of Perth’s most heartfelt and thoughtfully designed play spaces. The fully fenced nature Playground on Southmead Drive was created in memory of toddler Sam Trott and stands as a beautiful tribute to the community spirit that surrounded his family. The City of Wanneroo worked closely with Sam’s family and the Autism Association of Western Australia to design a space that celebrates play while being especially considerate of children’s sensory needs and inclusivity, making this much more than a standard suburban park. Located in Darch, just 20 minutes north of Perth CBD, Landsdale Farm is a family-friendly working farm offering hands-on animal experiences. Visitors can meet friendly farm animals including goats, donkeys, cows, sheep, alpacas, and more. Features include daily animal feeding sessions, tractor rides, two playgrounds, a gnome trail, and Kerrie D’s Cafe. The farm offers picnic areas, free BBQ facilities, and seasonal activities. Huntington Park is a lovely small park, with most of the space dedicated to various wonderful play structures which are all set on sand. The biggest draw for slightly older children would be the giant flying fox swings. There are two running parallel to each other, great for racing your friends! You pull the swing up onto a platform and go flying across the length of the park, all whilst seated on, and holding on tightly to the swing. Broadview park is set around a small lake, with a path running all the way around it. It’s a lovely spot and perfect for a stroll or ride around the lake and a play. Over the water is a gorgeous little gazebo with seats inside. This is the perfect spot to look for ducks and koi. The gazebo is safely fenced, with no risk of children slipping into the water.
