Mrs Herbert’s Park in Claremont is the perfect spot to spend a few hours now that the weather is warming up. Mrs Herbert’s Park is situated right on the calm waters of Freshwater Bay in Claremont. There is a little carpark alongside the Freshwater Bay Museum which is next door the park. The museum is unfortunately closed all this year for renovations, but we can’t wait to go back when it re-opens!. This museum was originally Mrs Herbert’s school, hence the name! Nestled in a leafy corner by Lake Claremont is a lovely naturally shaded playground. Lake Claremont Playground is a good mix of nature play and traditional playground equipment. The playground base is sand surrounded by grass and wood chips. There are no shade sails, but most of the equipment is naturally shaded by the large surrounding trees. There are stepping stones, logs and ropes to climb on, some with wooden platforms or balancing logs connecting different parts of the playground. Was on the way to Claremont Quarter when we stumbled across a fantastic playground just a stone’s throw away from CQ. Rowe Park consists of, a playground, separate sand pit area, lush greenery, benches, basketball court, tennis courts, drinks fountain and plenty of shade. There is also BBQ pits and picnic tables in the near future. The playground features 2 slides, drums, rocking frog, see-saw, spider-web climbing ropes, wobbly bridge, swings, rock climbing, monkey bars, tic-tac-toe and a huge sandpit.
