Tucked in behind The Bayswater Hotel on Coode Street, Halliday Park is a relaxed neighbourhood park with loads of open green space and a simple, sand-based Playground that’s ideal for a low-key play. Named after early Bayswater settler Henry Thomas Halliday, the park has a welcoming, local feel and plenty of room for kids to burn off energy. Bayswater Riverside Gardens is a much‑loved riverside Playground and parkland that’s especially perfect for toddlers and young children. Stretching along both Milne Street and King William Street in Bayswater, it combines a fully fenced play space with big open lawns, river views and easy paths, making it a spot where families can comfortably spend a whole morning or afternoon. Bert Wright Park is a small nature playground located behind the library and community centre in Bayswater. For a small area, there is plenty to offer, the park has a nature play area, Basketball hoop, expanse of grass, concrete pathway and BBQ and covered picnic table. The playground was popular even on a cold winter morning, with a number families enjoying the nature play. The Garratt Road Bridge or AP Hinds Reserve is a quiet playground and picnic spot under the bridge on the river in Bayswater. It is just down from the popular Riverside Gardens. We walked down there after a coffee at the coffee van at Riverside Gardens. The kids rode their scooters along the pathways, stopping at the exercise equipment spots along the way for a quick play.
