Jarrah Bar & Cafe at Hillarys Boat Harbour has become one of our favourite family spots, and if you haven’t been yet, you need to check it out! Whether you’re after a cosy winter meal by the fireplace or a fun dining experience with the kids, this place has it all.
We’ve been here a few times now, and every visit has been fantastic.
The food is seriously good—the pizzas are some of the best we’ve had, and even our little ones enjoy the vegan tapas. They also do great mocktails and have a good beer selection. Plus, there’s a hidden tiny Irish pub in the back, which is a fun surprise!
The atmosphere is one of the best parts. In winter, the multiple fireplaces make it feel so warm and inviting, and in warmer weather, sitting outside is just as nice. It’s also super family-friendly, which we love.
Why not make a day of it and take the kids to the South Beach, where they can run around, build sandcastles, and splash in the water. One time, we even spotted real starfish—such an incredible moment for myself and our kids!
For those who like a bit of adventure, the Hillarys Marina Lighthouse is another fun stop. You can read a bit of history and even climb up partway for a great view. Our family loves visiting lighthouses—extra points if we can actually go inside them!
If you’d rather skip the cooking, just head to Jarrah Bar & Cafe and let them make it for you. They open from 8:30 AM, seven days a week, and there’s no need to book—just rock up!
So, if you’re looking for a spot that’s great for families, has amazing food, and a cosy, welcoming vibe, Jarrah Bar & Cafe is a must-visit. We can’t wait to go back again soon!
