Ignite Dance in Joondalup is one of Perth’s leading schools for classical ballet and contemporary dance.
It offers classes from six years of age to adults with a range of classes including ballet, contemporary, jazz and lyrical, and conditioning.
For little ballerinas, Ignite’s sister company, Cygnets Dance, offers ballet classes from two to six years of age in Joondalup, Mindarie, Butler and Alkimos.
There is so much to love about Ignite Dance. Ignite provides a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment to inspire and challenge dancers to be their best.
The teachers are so wonderfully caring and make dance class so much fun. Ignite has such warm and positive feel that is noticeable as soon as you walk into the beautiful studio. Everything they do is about fostering a love and passion for dance.
Ignite teaches the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) curriculum, from recreational dance to pre-professional. Ignite offers RAD examinations and private tuition as well as workshops and other special events.
My six-year-old โ who is in her first year of ballet at Ignite Dance โ loves coming to her weekly class and adores her teachers. At this level, classes involve lots of imagination and fun, as well as teaching the foundations of ballet. The students learn ballet positions, steps and leaps, while also working on their balance, coordination and posture.
An end-of-year concert allows Ignite dancers to perform on stage to an audience. I love that Ignite keep any costs and effort to a minimum. Part of a dancerโs term fees goes towards the hire of a costume for the concert so parents donโt need to purchase expensive costumes or sew!
Whether your child has dreams of becoming a dancer or they just want to have some fun, Ignite Dance is a fantastic choice.
Classes run during term time, with a variety of after-school and Saturday classes on offer. Dancers can be dropped off at the studio, and parents are welcome to wait in the seated area in the studio foyer.
