There’s no shortage of breweries in WA! Wild Hop Brewing Company in Yallingup is a brilliant family-friendly brewery in the Margaret River region. Found about halfway between Yallingup Maze and Simmos Ice Creamery, it’s in a perfect spot for lunch. Wild Hop is a super popular place, and it’s no surprise why. Its combo of brilliant brews, better than your average brewery food, chilled beer garden vibes and welcoming kids is a winner. If you have a holiday planned in the area, I recommend you either book a table many weeks in advance or turn up when the doors open to secure a spot.
The family-run brew house has a shady deck and grassy beer garden, that overlooks a fenced dam.
The Wild Hop playground will guarantee that the kids are well-occupied.
The sand-fall area is close to the beer garden, and has a few picnic tables in the area too – perfect for keeping a close eye on little ones.
There’s lots of shade sails, and kids will love exploring the fort, tunnel, climbing frame, slide and stepping logs.
In keeping with the unique and quirky vibe of Wild Hop Brewery, there is a fantastic animal/train sculpture to play on, which is quite a work of art!
As for the food… The website reads “Sorry, but we don’t do pizzas, we don’t do burgers – because there are several other venues nearby that do that already, and they do it really well. “, which is music to this foodie’s ears. There are some really tasty dishes on the menu, which change regularly. Their free-range rotisserie chicken is a favourite. We didn’t have the kidlets in tow with us this time. Though the kid’s menu looks to tick all the boxes.
I loved the saucy lamb ribs, while Mr H devoured a brisket baguette, along with a pint or two of Wild Hop brew.
Be sure to check out Wild Hop Brewing Company next time you’re in the southwest!
