Goanna Golf is a brand new mini-golf course which opened in July 2020. Located in the beautiful surrounds of Point Walter, Goanna Golf will have you putt putting your way through an Australiana-themed adventure.
The 18-hole mini-golf course has an easy and difficult option with varying pars throughout. We found it to be the right balance of challenge and fun for an enjoyable game for the whole family.
Once you have been sized up for your club, picked your colour of golf ball and grabbed your score sheet, you are ready to head out to the gorgeous course and find the first tee.
The white flag tee is the easy course and the red flag tee is the difficult option. Being our first time we opted to follow the white flags.
The Goanna Golf course is beautifully laid out throughout the existing trees that will provide plenty of shade during the hotter months and there are plenty of benches placed throughout as well.
The second tee is very cool. There are 3 tees to pick from at the top of the course with 3 different landings down below. Two of the tees go through the lovely gumnut sculptures away from the final tee with additional holes to get you onto the final section. The third tee goes under the stairs, down the twisty snake body and out of the snake’s mouth.
Beware of the sand traps that are located throughout the course, thankfully they’re constructed of astroturf so not as tough to get out of as the real sand traps!
Weaving through the course is a lovely slow-flowing water feature with waterfalls and a creek bed. Not only is it a beautiful feature of the Goanna mini-golf course but it also acts as a hazard for your game. The water is slow flowing and there are handy nets alongside to retrieve your balls.
After the game, you can head back up to the cafe to the cafe for some refreshments while you add up the scorecards to determine the winner!
Bookings for Goanna Golf can only be made online, no walk-ins will be accepted. The clubs and balls are disinfected between each use and all socially distancing & hygiene guidelines are being followed.
Goanna Golf is also offering packages for birthdays, school & corporate groups.
The course is constructed of astroturf and there are footpaths along the way, making it pram & wheelchair accessible.
