Kids Big Carnival
The Perfect Easter Carnival Experience for Kids: Experience an exciting Easter family day out at the Kids Big Carnival, where fun and adventure await this April school holidays. With your $23 entry fee, enjoy unlimited access to a wide range of kid-friendly rides and Easter-themed entertainment. The best part is you don’t have to say ‘no’ when your kids want to try their favorite ride for the fifth time—all rides are included!
This event is tailored for children who love Easter magic, featuring a 450m² Easter Maze, the Easter Zoo Fest animal farm, and plenty of egg-stra surprises. Kids under 2 are FREE, but please note that everyone—including adults and spectators—needs a ticket to enter.
Enjoy the day comfortably under large outdoor shelters, with smaller, capped sessions to keep wait times low. It will be a magical day out for the whole family. Feline Good
Saturday 15 March – Saturday 5 April Joondalup Library, Joondalup During library opening hours
Discover a series of fluorescent sculptural cats, here to brighten your day with their tracksuit-wearing escapades. Bring along the whole family to look for Coconut, Cardboard, Nasty Nestle and the gang hiding in plain sight around Joondalup Library. Can you find them all? Feline Good is an irreverent sculptural installation by West Australian multi-disciplinary visual artist Bruno Booth. An artist whose cross-media practice addresses the challenges and possibilities of negotiating the world from a wheelchair, Bruno’s artwork brings to light relationships between the cultural and physical. This project has been made possible through the Regional Exhibition Touring Boost managed by the Department of Local Government Sport and Cultural Industries, supported by Royalties for Regions and delivered by ART ON THE MOVE.

Water Dragons
Three colossal dragons are set to snake their way to the waters of Hillarys Boat Harbour in a jaw-dropping WA premiere for Joondalup Festival. Watch in awe as the spiny 15-metre beasts – donned by jet-ski propelled puppeteers – glide ethereally through the harbour, complete with an epic light and soundscape. Depicted in countless cultures, dragon lore lives on in fairytales, myths, legends – and now in real life. See their serrated scales sparkle before your eyes in fluorescent hues, their beady eyes and slitted pupils, and the pointed spikes that adorn their gargantuan bodies. From the Melbourne-based creatives who brought us Electric Kingdom’s magical menagerie of glowing giants last year – A Blanck Canvas are back again, bringing more massive mythical creatures to life.

The Plants
Have you ever made music with a marigold? Composed chords with a chrysanthemum? Or listened to lullabies à la lavender? Reach out and touch real plants to play these unique organic instruments! The Plants are new experimental musical instruments that combine organic matter and bespoke digital sensors developed by Playable Streets. For the first time, these plant-based instruments are available for the public to play and create new live compositions! Swelling with textural waves and phasing rhythmic movement, The Plants will be unlike any musical instrument you have ever seen, heard or played before. Jila Kujarra: Two Snakes Dreaming
Jila Kujarra: Two Snakes Dreaming is a cross-cultural collaboration between Warnman artist Desmond Taylor and Boorloo-based textiles practitioner Mariaan Pugh, commissioned by Fremantle Arts Centre in partnership with Martumili Artists. Taylor and Pugh have worked together to transform Taylor’s Niminjarra paintings, usually seen on canvas or paper, into highly tactile textile works, animating the important Niminjarra Jukurrpa (Dreaming). “Niminjarra is the two brothers transforming into a snake so they can come back home to Ngayartakujarra (Lake Dora). They were in training for ceremony, those two brothers, but they were kept too long, and nobody was there to release them. They waited then they decided to transform into snakes to travel back to where they came from, because their mother was waiting for them. This is Jukurrpa (Dreaming story).” – Desmond Taylor, 2019 Jila Kujarra: Two Snakes Dreaming is born of Taylor’s desire to see his artworks reimagined through a textile medium and is a contemporary crafting of important ancestral stories deeply rooted in Warnman Ngurra (Country). Characters

From the mind of Australian Designer and Puppet Maker, Elias Ppiros, Characters is an interactive puppet-based exhibition combining puppetry, new found technology and interactivity. Utilising the key senses of sight, sound, touch and movement, Characters invites children and their families to explore the world of puppetry and character building in a tactile self-paced environment. Ranging from push button activated voice overs and sensory boards, to rotatable wheels giving the audience the ability to puppeteer their own puppet. AQUAtron Inflatable Sessions
Looking for an exciting aquatic adventure for your kids? Our Aquatron is the ultimate inflatable pool experience, designed for children aged 6 and over (with a maximum height of 160cm). Packed with running, climbing, and sliding fun, this thrilling activity takes place in our indoor pool—perfect for year-round enjoyment! We have two dates and two sessions, making it four times the fun!

The Antipodean Manifesto exhibition is coming to the Wanneroo Regional Gallery, and features a selection of paintings, drawings, prints and ceramics by the seven artists and one historian who formed the Antipodean group in Melbourne in 1969. Drawn from The State Art Collection, it explores the social and political context of late 1950s Australia.

Community Workshop – Energy Saving Tips (Energy Efficiency Pilot Program)
Join our hands-on workshop to learn how to save energy, cut costs, and reduce your environmental impact. Discover why saving energy is essential for both your budget and the planet, and gain insight into how much energy is typically used in your home, and where. We’ll walk you through understanding your electricity bills and share practical tips for cutting energy use in the biggest household energy consumers: heating and cooling, hot water, appliances, and lighting. By tackling these key areas, you’ll be able to make simple changes that will noticeably lower your energy usage and bills. You’ll also learn how to use an energy efficiency kit to audit your home. These kits will be available to borrow from many libraries and Community Resource Centres across Western Australia from March. Swap it like it’s hot
SWAP it like it’s HOT – A waste free event! Back by popular demand but with a twist. The City of Joondalup are partnering with headspace to run a clothes swap.
How it works Bring some of your unwanted clothing (if you have any), and leave with something new. Clothes must be clean and good quality (not worn out, faded, or damaged). For example, would you be happy to give the item to a friend to wear?
- 11.00am: Arrive at headspace Joondalup, with some of your unwanted clothing.
- 11.30am: Get inspired by Ciara, the Style Counsellor, as she shares how fashion can be a form of self-expression while also reducing waste and overbuying!
- 12-3pm: Pick out some pre-loved clothing to take home for free.

Mount Claremont Farmers Market
The Market now has up to 55 stalls each week and is governed by a Charter that ensures high quality, predominantly grower direct produce. The range of produce includes fruits, vegetables and herbs, baked goods, artisan pantry items, meat, poultry, seafood and pastured eggs. We have a selection of hot food and drink stalls, as well as stalls selling natural body and cleaning products, handmade homewares, and plants and flowers.

Coastal Explorer Hop-On Hop-Off Bus
Jump on the Coastal Explorer bus for Perth’s best day out! The open-top double-decker bus is a unique way to enjoy Perth’s premier coastal destinations – Scarborough and Hillarys. Hop-on at Barrack Street Jetty in the morning, then hop-off at Scarborough Beach and Hillarys Boat Harbour, before returning back to Barrack Street Jetty in the late afternoon. Staying locally? You can simply hop-on at Scarborough or Hillarys. Tickets can be pre-booked through the Coastal Explorer website, or simply purchase a ticket from the driver on the day.

This free workshop is open to anyone who has an interest in energy efficiency and saving money on their power bills. You’ll learn:
- how to save energy, cut costs, and reduce your environmental impact
- why saving energy is essential for both your budget and the planet
- how much energy is typically used in your home and where
- how to read your electricity bills
- how making your home energy-efficient can help you maximize the benefits of your solar panels

Youth Fest 2025
This year’s YouthFest stars live music by WA rapper AZZA, plus an epic line-up of fun worth breaking from TikTok for. The evening will be jam-packed with fun for young people aged 12 to 24 – like live street art, mini golf, air brush tatts and tasty food trucks. Local youth providers will also be on-hand to share information and support opportunities.
Other good stuff: • Live music from solo pop artist Erin Carroll. • A set by a lucky local muso, selected by the SJ Shire Youth Team. • Hair braiding, a scavenger hunt with prizes, and Game Vault Van. • A live street art community youth project. • Food trucks offering free meals. • A chill-out space to relax and connect.

Luminous Street Festival 2025
Over two nights during the April School Holidays, the Claremont Town Centre will once again light-up with a range of immersive and interactive luminous activities. Luminous Street Festival is a FREE family-friendly event offering a wonderland of illuminated entertainers, light projections and light installations along with a silent disco, face-painting and craft activities. Tractor Parade
See, hear and smell the machinery that has played such an important role in the development of our state.
Chugging their way from the Tractor Museum, around Village Circle to Revolutions Transport Museum and back, the Tractor Parade is a great opportunity to see the ‘museum’ come to life! Tractors depart the Tractor Museum at 1.15pm, and best viewing is near the Tractor Museum, at the Village Junction Station and along the car parks (especially between the Visitor Information Centre and Whiteman Park Administration). Don’t forget to watch out for Tail-End Charlie bringing up the rear!

Night Skate Jam Session
Jam sessions are for both beginners and experienced riders to come down and ride the park in a chilled, fun and supervised session with music, free barbecue, spot prizes, giveaways, demos and heaps more! WA Tree Festival: Bat box building
Discover the weird and wonderful nighttime world of microbats! Celebrate International Bat Appreciation Day by joining a zoologist and bat-carer from Eco Action WA in this special evening of native bat education and woodworking fun. Learn about what we can do in our communities and backyards to support native wildlife, including microbats, as well as about the nocturnal lifestyle of bats, their typical habitat and natural enemies, how echolocation calls work, rescue and rehabilitation methods, and how important they are to our local ecosystem by helping to keep mosquito numbers down. You’ll even get the chance to hang out with some cute bats up close! Then get hands-on as you are guided to build bat boxes, in small groups, to help conserve our local microbat population. Some of the boxes will be reserved for future installation in the City’s natural areas, while other boxes will be available to participants to take home and help to provide nest sites in our urban environment. Construction of the boxes will require the use of hammers, paint and non-toxic glue, with no drilling or cutting required. Children must be supervised by a parent or guardian.
Cost $5.00 inclusive of light catering and a free WA Tree Festival seedling. All materials supplied. Places are limited, book and pay online.

The Egg-citing History of Painted Eggs

WA Tree Festival: Discover Djeran
Djeran is the Noongar name for the April and May season; a time when the bush is lush and green with the arrival of cooler weather. It is traditionally a time to prepare for the heavy rains to come, when Noongar people would move inland to the freshwater lakes on Mooro Boodjar (Joondalup country). Banksias are beginning to bloom, while young Yaarkan (turtles) have now grown into adulthood. Discover the wonders of Djeran on an inspiring and educational walk through the trees around Lake Joondalup, led by Olman Walley from Boorloo Aboriginal Cultural Experiences. Escape the bustle of urban living and go on a journey through nature to find some of our largest local trees. Learn about their uses and significance to Noongar people and hear the stories of their connection to other elements of the landscape. Suitable for all ages. Please wear comfortable enclosed shoes for walking, a hat and bring a water bottle. Cost $5.00 inclusive of light catering and a free WA Tree Festival seedling. Practical Yoga for Parenthood
This program utilises a ‘sharing circle’ format with a weekly theme relevant to parenthood. Sessions are facilitated by Claire Holloway, an experienced yoga facilitator and matrescence coach from The Centre of Bright Beginnings, Scarborough. Each session involves:
- A safe, intimate and comfortable space to connect with other parents
- Some gentle movement and breathing exercises
- A guided reflection upon the week’s principle
- Time for quiet journaling/reflection and then sharing/discussing in a group format (with no obligation to share openly, only if you feel called)
- A yoga exercise related to the principle to help bring experiential relevance
