Looking for a unique family outing this summer? Crystal Cave in Yanchep National Park is an absolute must-visit! Just under an hourโ€™s drive from Perth, this hidden gem offers a refreshing escape from the heatโ€”and an unforgettable underground adventure.

Our little family of four (with a toddler and a baby in tow) couldnโ€™t have been more thrilled. With the baby snug in a carrier, we stepped out of the summer sun and into the cool, crisp 18ยฐC cave. It felt like walking into a giant natural fridgeโ€”heavenly after the heat outside!

The 45-minute guided tour takes you through a fascinating loop of stalactites, stalagmites, and other mesmerizing formations. Our guide was full of fun facts, answering every curious question and pointing out details weโ€™d have missed otherwise. The highlight? Snapping some incredible photos of this natural phenomenon.ย

A few tips: wear comfy shoes and watch your head (especially with a toddler prone to darting about). While tickets arenโ€™t sold at the cave entrance, booking online is super easy, and you can pair your tour with a day pass or an annual pass if you plan to return.

The park has excellent facilities, including a gift shop, cafรฉ, toilets and picnic spots. While we stuck to the caves this time, there are bushwalking trails if you want to make a day of it. Maybe youโ€™ll see some kangaroos on your way to the cave.ย

Crystal Cave is more than a tour; itโ€™s an adventure your family will treasure. Pack your water bottles, grab your tickets in advance, and enjoy a cool, magical journey underground!
