Aussie Bird Count

Join the 2024 Aussie Bird Count during National Bird Week, 14 to 20 October! Make a difference to bird conservation by counting the birds that are counting on you. Participate in the Aussie Bird Count and use your observation skills for 20 minutes to make a simple but important contribution to Birdlife Australia’s conservation initiatives. Each year people across the country head out to their front yards, backyards, courtyards, parks and play areas to count how many birds they see to provide a snapshot of Australia’s more common bird species. It’s a fun, simple and safe activity observing nature, which is proven to provide benefits to mental health and wellbeing. Collecting this data at the same time each year allows us to look at the trends in our bird communities over time. Think of birds as a barometer for nature, their health and wellbeing are one of nature’s best indicators. Download the Aussie Bird Count app and get involved or learn more at aussiebirdcount.org.au.

This is a chance for participants to showcase their abilities amongst their peers and for the community to see the pump track participants excelling in a positive way. Some of the types of challenges that might take place would include best trick, longest manual, most engaged rider, best youngest rider as well as some races. Prizes are given out to the winners of the challenges.

All equipment is checked prior to the participant’s involvement to make sure that it is in a safe condition and minor repairs, or adjustments can be made if necessary. We do, however, reserve the right to not permit a participant to attend the workshop if we feel that their equipment does not meet safety requirements.

Participants under the age of 6 will be taken on their ability to understand and follow instructions and to control their apparatus.

FIFO Family Meet-Up

Join The FIFO Family Project and come along to connect with the FIFO family community!

Are you a FIFO family in Perth, wanting to meet others who get what it’s like to live the crazy FIFO life?

This free event is your opportunity to connect and have a cuppa with other local FIFO Families who ‘get it’, where you can begin to overcome the loneliness and isolation that too often comes with FIFO rosters and being a FIFO partner.

Bonus – you get an outing on a Saturday morning, where the kids are contained (fully-fenced play area), you’re inside if it rains and there are at least 4 coffee shops within max 1km of the venue (plus – a drive-through coffee shop up the road, so you don’t even need to wrangle the kids out of the car on your way to the meet-up – brilliant).

Act Now! Yes tickets are free but you must sign up to attend through Eventbrite, as numbers for the venue are capped and we don’t want you to miss out.
