I’m a HUGE fan of Lollipop’s Playland in Bayswater, so when I heard a centre was opening closer to home I was very excited!
Located at 2/294 Butler Boulevard, Butler, it is easily accessible from the freeway extension and Butler Train Station. As you arrive you will be greeted by none other than the giant fibreglass Lollipop’s cat mascot.
Lollipop’s has a great security system in place, upon paying all children are given a wristband and parents are issued a ticket with a corresponding number. This way only you can check your child out of the centre. Gates in and out are locked by staff, who then check you all out on departure.
Through the security gates there a bouncy castle with a built-in slide on the left.
After a bounce, we headed to the Toddler Area for children under 3. This area features a climbing structure with soft foam steps and a double slide, a ball pit, spinning tunnel, giant piano, soft blocks, a foam rocker and a “waterslide” – don’t worry! Your child won’t get wet! The water is inside the slide.
The toddler area is sectioned off from the rest of the play equipment, although my 2 year was able to escape very easily. I wasn’t concerned if he wondered away because of the great security system in place.
The main multi-story climbing structure is fantastic! Consisting of 3 levels with a range of obstacles on every level such as tunnels to crawl through, bridges to cross and punch bags to weave around… on the top level we even found a spaceship! The entire playground is padded for safety.
The huge 4 lane speed slide is a huge hit with kids of all ages.
There is also a corkscrew slide and for the brave kids a drop slide.
On the ground level, there is a big ball pit, twisting poles, and a trampoline.
It was hard to pull the kids away from the ball blaster zone, at one point all the children worked together to collect the foam balls to create a waterfall. In the same area, there is a ball fountain and an interactive table where kids of all ages can experiment with the foam balls. The bigger kids love collecting up buckets of balls to take to the next level to shoot at targets or each other.
The Lollipop’s Car Ride runs every half hour, staff will announce the ride is running over the PA system. Children under a metre tall must ride with an adult, while older children may ride alone if they wish. There are seat belts, and the staff member operating the ride checks everyone is properly buckled up and explains a couple of rules for riding before the ride begins.
Next to the car ride is a coin-operated air hockey table.
Another fantastic drawcard for children over the age of 5 is the clip and climb rock climbing walls. Kids are harnessed and fully supervised by a trained staff member during rock climbing sessions.
No outside food can be brought into the centre. Luckily the café is great, the menu offers a good selection of options for adults and kids at decent prices.
Lollipop’s Playland Butler has four bright party rooms available for hire. Party packages include unlimited play in the Playland, as well as food from the café. They can even provide invitations or organise a special visit from Lollipop the Cat. See their website for party package details and prices.
Entry to Lollipop’s Playland varies, depending on the age of your child and the time you visit. Entry includes unlimited playtime. Grab a frequent visitor pass for free offers on your 4th, 8th and 12th visit.
And remember NO SOCKS, NO PLAY! There are socks and lollipop merchandise available to purchase if you wish.
I absolutely loved our visit to Lollipop’s Playland Butler, and the kids adored the space theme! The centre is BIG, offers heaps of natural light, there is lots of seating, plenty of room to bring a pram or stroller and the staff are super friendly.
Follow their Facebook page for current events, special offers and competitions.
