Sculpture by the Sea has once again transformed the stunning Cottesloe coastline into one of Perth’s most unique outdoor art galleries.

Running along the coastal path and down onto the sand, this event is the perfect excuse to spend a morning exploring one of Perth’s most beautiful beaches.

The sculptures are spread between Cottesloe and North Cottesloe, with many placed along the coastal path and others displayed directly on the beach. It makes the whole experience feel a bit like a treasure hunt as you wander along the coast spotting the next piece of art.

Some sculptures are huge and dramatic, others are quirky or playful, and a few are even interactive.

One of our favourites was the giant hearts, where visitors can leave little messages. The kids loved reading what other people had written and adding their own messages too, such a fun way to make the artwork feel personal.

Kids can also get involved by voting for their favourite sculpture, which adds an extra layer of excitement as they explore the exhibition. If you’re hoping to take a little piece of the event home, there’s a merchandise stand with items starting from just $2. And if you’ve forgotten the essentials for a day at the beach, you can even grab sunscreen there too.

The full walk is around 2km if you explore everything, but it’s easy to take your time and stop along the way to admire the sculptures and soak up the incredible ocean views.

With coffee spots, nearby cafes and plenty of grassy areas for a picnic, it’s easy to turn Sculpture by the Sea into a relaxed family day out.
