The Yallingup Maze, found on Caves Road, is a fun-filled family attraction โ rain, hail or shine! If you’ve not visited for a few yers, you’ll notice a couple of new additions, with water pistols in the maze, and a mini golf course which opened in August 2022. But more on that in a bit.
At Yallingup Maze youโll find something for everyone โ toddlers, children, teenagers and adults.ย Visitors are welcome to come by for a coffeeย at the cafeย and use the freeย activities – aย playground, nature play area and more. There is an entry fee payable to enter the huge wooden maze.ย Once you have paid, you can enter as many times as you like.
The wooden maze is massive, with hidden doors, towers, stairs and bridges. The challenge is to reach all four numbered towers, which is difficult enough โ try reaching the towers in number order!ย The woodenย pathways all look the same and itโs easy to get very lost.ย There are also tasksย to complete, like find painted murals hidden in the maze.ย
And since our last visit, the fun at Yallingup Maze has been stepped up a notch or two! Thereโs been an addition of water pistols. This is especially good on a hot day. Not only will you be in a race to find the four towers and the exit, but you can also squirt your friends and family along the way!
Water fill-up points are found all around the wooden maze.
Just be sure not to get any strangers caught up in the water fight fun! The kids just loved this.
It certainly is aย puzzling maze. Personally, I think it’s the most difficult maze I’ve been lost in. We all got lost plenty of times and we went round and round in circles too. If you visit in summer I would recommend you take a hat, sunscreen and water with you โ you may be in there some time!ย ย ย
The beautifully setout 18 hole mini golf course has plenty of cascading waterfalls and other obstacles.
Each green has a harder (blue flag) and easier (yellow flag) hole. The course is designed for the adults with the kids in mind. And the adults had LOTS of fun! even if I lost. The course is suitable for children 8 years and older. Be sure to take advantage of the golf and maze combo deals.ย
If you visit on a rainy day, you can still enjoy the cafรฉ, which servesย Yahavaย coffee, soft drinks and is also licencedย with local wines and craft beers. On their menu thereโsย a mix of both healthy andย treat food which isย locally made. Each table has some mind boggling puzzles to keep the kids and adults entertained and there are lots of board games too!ย
The cafรฉ is air conditioned, there are high chairsย and change table facilities.ย Outside there is more seating next to the playground, sandpitย and bouncy castleย (bounce byย gold coin charity donation).ย Thereโs also more games, likeย aย giantย jenga.ย
Wander down the steps toย theย โold bendy treeโย and youโll find more puzzles, mini mazes and nature play.
ย ย ย
Thereโs lots of nature play withย some fun tree stump stepping stones and the big kids will love to climb on the massiveย sideways growingย tree.
The kids can runย freeย around the huge area,ย a lot of which isย shadedย and make bush cubby housesย outย of sticks and leaves.ย
Yallingup Maze is a fun way to spend a couple of hours in the Margaret River region.ย The kids will absolutely have a ball, and you may even loose themย in the Mazeย for a bit (like I did – whoops!).ย And if you think youโve โbeen there, done thatโ, think again! The tricky people at Yallingup Maze often reconfigure the layout, so if you think youโve cracked it โ youโre wrong!ย
The maze is open every day from 9:30am to 4:30pm
