The junior area is a real highlight. There’s generous floor space for Storytime, Pram Jam and school holiday activities, with low shelves, child‑sized tables and chairs, and cosy reading spots. It’s a colourful, cheerful space where children can explore picture books, early readers and junior fiction at their own pace, with room to spread out puzzles or sit with a parent and share a story.
Older kids, teens and adults are well catered for too. The library is spacious with an easy‑to‑navigate layout, and there are plenty of comfy chairs where you can relax with a newspaper or a magazine, as well as study desks with power points for laptops and devices. There are group study and work areas that suit homework catch‑ups or quiet meetings, plus public internet kiosks and free Wi‑Fi available throughout the library, so you can bring your own device and get connected for the day. Printing and photocopying are available for a small fee, while scanning to email or USB is free for members, making it handy for school assignments, work documents or personal admin.
A dedicated magazines and newspapers room offers long tables, good lighting and an online search terminal, so you can sit and browse in peace. Around the library, there are casual lounge areas perfect for flicking through a book while the kids explore nearby. The whole space feels welcoming, accessible and well‑designed for prams and wheelchairs, with lift and ramp access via the Cockburn Health and Community Facility and plenty of parking under and around the building, as well as in the adjacent shopping centre car park.
Success Public Library runs a strong program of free events for both children and adults. During term time, families can enjoy regular Storytime sessions for children aged roughly 2–5 years on Tuesday and Friday mornings, and Pram Jam sessions for babies and toddlers on Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Every year after 30 June, eligible low‑income earners can access a free Tax Help program at the library, with appointments made by calling the branch. Becoming a member is simple and free for all Western Australian residents. Just bring proof of your current WA address into the library and you can join on the spot. Members can borrow up to 20 items for three weeks at a time and use the public internet terminals for up to three hours a day. There are no membership fees – you’ll only pay if items are late, lost or damaged, or if you choose to print or photocopy. With such a generous borrowing limit and so many family‑friendly programs, it’s well worth signing up if you live anywhere nearby.
