The brand new DoubleTree by Hilton Perth Waterfront will open its doors on 15th December 2020 but Buggybuddys was lucky enough to catch a sneak peek before it welcomes its first guests.
Located right on the waterfront adjoining Barrack Square and Elizabeth Quay, the DoubleTree by Hilton Perth Waterfront is the first hotel in Perth to offer full 360° Swan River and city views. I don’t think there is a bad view to be had from anywhere in the hotel! Trust me, those views are spectacular!
The Rooms
The hotel sits on the Swan River, with part of the hotel actually built on stilts in the river. It features 18 floors and 229-rooms each with beautiful views of Perth City or the Swan River.
The hotel offers nine various room configurations including King or Twin Deluxe Panoramic River View or City View rooms. If you are staying as a family you are able to book two adjoining standard rooms or the Deluxe rooms are able to accommodate a rollaway bed (one child only).
Standard rooms feature only a shower in the bathroom whereas the deluxe rooms contain a bath.
Crabtree and Evelyn amenities are provided and you can also take advantage of your choice of pillow with the Signature Sweet Dreams by DoubleTree sleeping experience.
The Pool and Fitness Centre
Located on level 5, is the outdoor infinity pool which offers views across the Swan River. The pool is open from 6am to 6pm.
You’ll also find a lounge terrace where you can enjoy a cocktail, or two, from room service whilst taking in the city or river views.
There is also a small river-facing but well-equipped fitness centre is open 24-hours a day.
Reel Kitchen
Located on the second floor with amazing Swan River views is Reel Kitchen which showcases an open kitchen focusing on fresh seasonal produce and Western Australian seafood.
If you are not a seafood fan you won’t be left disappointed as head-chef Mohammed Musaddiq’s signature dish is a Flamed grilled chicken cured with chilli citrus served with capsicum purée, baby cos lettuce, jalapeño and beets.
18 Knots Rooftop Bar
Located on the 18th floor and offering spectacular 360 views of Perth is the 18 Knots Rooftop Bar. I feel this will become a favourite city centre hangout for Perth residents!
Not only will you find a tempting cocktail menu, but you can also enjoy a casual food menu showcasing light bites and sharing plates. I can highly recommend the “Milky Way’, a signature cocktail from bar manager Jordan de Hullessen containing Frozen Tonic water, ginger, agave, butterfly pea flower and lime syrup, then some raspberry vodka infused which makes it look like a pink, purple and dark blue sky.
Check-in
DoubleTree by Hilton Perth Waterfront uses an Innovative Digital Key system where Hilton Honors guests can use the app on their smartphone as the room key. You can check-in using the app meaning you can arrive and go straight to your room, unless you want to be greeted with one of their signature warm chocolate chip cookies.
DoubleTree by Hilton Perth Waterfront is located at 1 Barrack Square, Perth and opens on 15th December 2020. For more information visit www.hilton.com/en/hotels/doubletree-perth-waterfront
