Located on the north-west corner of Leatherback Oval in Alkimos Beach is a brand new Bike Safety Course that is sure to be a hit with kids of all ages! It features a realistic layout of Perth’s streets that gives children aged 4-11 years old hands on opportunities to learn pedestrian and bike travel safety skills. Leafy Somerly Park in the northern suburb of Clarkson features a bright playground suitable for kids of all ages, including traditional play equipment mixed with some sensory play. On arriving and walking down the path and under a tall gazebo to the playground, the first things to grab Miss 4’s attention was the musical play equipment. A board with different shapes to drum on and chiming pipes of different heights and pitch stand at one end along with two spring rockers and a spinning toy. Hardcastle Park, Landsdale Located in family-friendly Landsdale, Hardcastle Park is a delightful new playground for kids of all ages. Featuring nature play, tradition play equipment and a picnic space, it’s a great space to hang out with the family. On arriving, I was first struck by the large grassed area. If you are looking for a small but mighty suburban playground in the northern suburbs, the brand new playground at Drimmie Park in Clarkson has you covered. The main feature of the playground is a bright red replica of a World War II Catalina Seaplane which features a soft fall hill, climbing nets, and huge tunnel slide. Situated on the beach in Amberton Estate, Eglinton, this brand new playground is perfect for toddlers and is also fenced! Whilst not fully fenced, the majority is gated/fenced with the only escape being some wooden logs that leave it open, parents can sit on the grass near the logs through which I did, to catch any little escapees!
