A good pub feed, kids’ play area, great service and free ice cream yes please! That’s what you will find at The Last Local in Canning Vale. Having undergone a facelift in recent years, it brings the original features of a classic Tudor-style pub on the inside with a modern updated area on the outside.
Whether you fancy a pint, a snack or a family meal, they have a wide variety of food and drinks to choose from, including their on-site boutique brewery. The inside is decorated like a historical pub, with the roof beams covered in hundreds of different beer coasters and fairy lights for a warm and friendly feel. The outside space has been updated to hold a great area for a meal in the sun or to sit in front of the large outdoor screen to watch sports. There are water misters on site to keep you cool and plenty of seats both in and out of the shade.
They have a small play area to keep the kids entertained that has seating options right next to it to be able to eat and watch. The play area is more aimed at younger toddlers but is a safe space for all ages.
We visited recently for a family meal with eight of us ordering, the food arrived quickly, and the service was spot on. Three of us ordered their famous steak sandwich that won them the top prize back in 2022. We also ordered beef birria tacos, chicken Caesar salad, classic parmi and a grilled chicken and brie burger.
There were no negatives to say about the food, and they were all good pub-sized servings. Kids meals are $14.50 and include an ice cream for dessert, my daughter thoroughly enjoyed her large scoop of chocolate fudge ice cream.
The pub has daily specials, including senior specials, Sunday roasts and curries of the day. Soft drinks, beers, cocktails and alcoholic slushies are something for everyone.
