If you’re holidaying in the south west region of WA, you may be on the lookout for budget-friendly eats for your fam. Parked up at Prevelly, near Margaret River, the Surfers Point Food Trucks are a must for a laid-back casual meal with kids. Overlooking the iconic Surfers Point, this grassy dining spot combines stunning ocean views with delicious street food, making it a memorable experience for all ages. The kids can do handstands on the grass, while you devour a delicious hamburger with a view!

Whether you’re fresh from a swim at the nearby Rivermouth Beach or watching the kids play at the nearby Riflebutts Reserve playground, Surfers Point is the perfect place to unwind after a active day. Spread out a picnic rug and take in the sea breeze while you enjoy a meal from some of the region’s best food trucks. Just before sunset is busiest, so we grabbed an early burger to avoid the rush.

You’ll often find favorites like MR Smash, serving up mouthwatering smashed burgers. This relatively new food van serves top notch burgs, along with excellent chips that are sprinkled with a tasty house seasoning. We even had a visit from their sweet pup Mapel, who was a big hit with the kids 🙂

There’s smaller kids’ burger options too, as well as gluten free buns. I really enjoyed my GF bun (pictured in the main blog image), and it held together nicely – gluten intolerant people will feel my pain! We all agreed these burgers were absolutely delicious, especially if you add bacon.

Hooked Up dishes up fresh, local fish and chips that are sure to hit the spot.

They also offer kids portions and gluten free battered fish too (yay!).

These food trucks rotate regularly, so it’s worth keeping an eye on their social media pages for up-to-date schedules, especially during the warmer months when they’re most active. The beauty of dining here is its affordability, making it ideal for families on holiday. With casual eats that won’t break the bank, it’s a great alternative to dining out at a restaurant, while still delivering on flavour and atmosphere. Be sure to check out the nearby Riflebutts Playground too – also a good spot to eat your takeaway feast.

Don’t forget to stay a little longer to soak in one of the famous Margaret River sunsets – a breathtaking way to end the day. The Surfers Point food trucks offer a relaxed and tasty way to enjoy the beauty of Margs.
