Scarborough Sunset Markets are one of Perth’s liveliest beachside evenings, and a brilliant outing with kids in tow. Set along the Scarborough Beach foreshore and Esplanade, the markets pop up every Thursday evening through the warmer months, turning the whole area into a colourful, buzzing street-food and shopping hub. Because the markets are so popular, parking can be tricky. It’s worth arriving early if you’re driving, or using the paid public parking underneath the Rendezvous Hotel. Public transport is a good option, with buses running regularly to the Scarborough Beach foreshore. The whole event has a relaxed, family‑friendly feel, but it does get very busy at peak times, so keeping younger kids close is important. Dogs are welcome on a leash around the market area, but they’re not permitted on the beach itself – and given the crowds, many families may prefer to leave their pups at home.
