If you’re looking for a gentle, meaningful way to support your child’s early education, Little Sprouts Early Education in Perth’s northern suburbs is a beautiful place to begin. Whether you’re starting your homeschooling journey, are well into it, or preparing your little one for school, these nature-based, play-rich programs are designed to nurture curiosity, confidence and a lifelong love of learning.
Run by Jess, a qualified teacher and mum with a warm and calming presence, Little Sprouts offers small group programs that blend early literacy, numeracy, STEM, fine motor development and creativity – all grounded in nature and guided by your child’s interests.

School Readiness Program (Ages 3–5)
Fridays 9:30–11:00am | Quinns Mindarie Community Centre
This beautiful program is designed to prepare your child for a smooth, confident transition into school – all without the pressure of worksheets or sitting still. These sessions blend early learning goals with meaningful play and plenty of opportunities to connect.
Each week includes:
Storytelling and Early Literacy – name recognition, letter sounds and mark-making

Hands-On Numeracy – sorting, counting, patterning and measuring

Fine Motor Practice – cutting, drawing, manipulating natural materials

Creative Arts – using leaves, sticks, watercolours and more

Sensory Exploration – muddy, messy, joyful learning through play

Social and Emotional Skills – confidence, sharing, conflict resolution and resilience through shared activities
Parents stay and play an active role in these sessions, supporting their child’s learning in a relaxed, supportive way. Jess provides gentle guidance and educational prompts to help you extend the learning, all while building confidence and fostering connection.

The aim? A joyful, play-rich start to learning that supports school readiness while keeping your child’s spark alive.
Homeschool Enrichment Program (Ages 5–8)
Fridays 11:30am–1:00pm | Quinns Mindarie Community Centre
These enriching sessions are thoughtfully designed for homeschooling families who want to bring structure, creativity and real-world discovery into their child’s week.
Each week blends hands-on learning experiences across science, literacy, the arts and early numeracy — woven together through meaningful themes and nature-based exploration. Past sessions have followed elemental topics like Earth, Wind, Water and Fire, with beachside nature walks, experiments and open-ended play that inspire wonder and connection.

Highlights include:
STEM & Inquiry-Based Learning – real-world exploration, nature investigations and scientific thinking
Literacy & Numeracy Stations – project-style activities using story prompts, measuring, sorting and creative expression
Creative Arts & Loose Parts Play – nurturing imagination through natural materials and hands-on making
Collaborative Learning – teamwork, problem-solving and peer connection in a safe, relaxed space

The program encourages independence while supporting social and emotional growth. Children build confidence through collaboration and hands-on discovery, all while learning in a way that feels natural and meaningful.
Parents are welcome to stay or drop off, depending on what suits your family. You’ll also receive a curriculum-aligned report each term – ideal for homeschool records and reporting.

A Stunning Location by the Beach
The Quinns Mindarie Community Centre is the perfect setting for both programs. Sessions begin under shady trees on the beachfront, with the sound of waves setting the tone for a calm, focused story and introduction.
Magnifying glasses are provided for nature walks and children are encouraged to collect natural materials to use in the activities. It’s a setting that truly invites curiosity and wonder.

Children then move between the fenced outdoor area, which includes a playground, and the indoor space with hands-on stations. There’s a basket swing, water play, balancing logs, climbing structure with slide and plenty of space to move between indoor and outdoor learning environments.

Parent Tips:
- Bring a change of clothes – messy play is part of the fun!
- Pack water, snacks and a hat – learning outdoors is hungry, sunny work
- Bring a basket for nature walks – collecting treasures is half the adventure
- Grab a coffee beforehand at Portofinos Beach.Bar.Kitchen, right next door
- On warm days, bring swimmers and a towel to cool off at Quinns Beach
- Extend your morning with a scooter or bike ride to Frederick Stubbs Park (1km away) and a coffee or bite at Luna n Soul
