Hairlarious Kidz Hairdressers – My 2 year old son has the best hair!!! Even if I do say so myself! It’s beautiful and thick and dead straight, but the first problem is that it grows very fast, and the second problem is that he hates going to the hairdresser.
I did find a great kids hairdressing salon last year, but it was often difficult to get an appointment (I do tend to leave things till the last minute….), it was a good 40 minute drive from home and it was a bit on the pricey side. So I would tend to only make the trip out there every three months. Leo would look great for the first month, by the second month his fringe would grow into his eyes so he couldn’t see without using a lot of gel in the morning and then by the third month I’d try and give the front a bit of a trim and he would end up looking just plain shaggy. My husband kept begging me to take him to the local shopping centre for a ‘’short, back ‘n sides’’ but I refused as Leo looks so cute with his hair long when it’s neat. I figure when he’s older he’ll be deciding how he gets it cut so while I’m in charge – I will decide!
You can imagine my delight when I finally found the perfect hairdresser for him!!! Hairlarious Kidz is located in The Mezz Shopping Centre, Mount Hawthorn – no appointments, walk-ins only and $25 haircuts no matter what your child’s age. And the first time we went, there were two hairdressers working and no queue so we went straight in.
As you can see in the pics they have an iPad setup, so that kept Leo busy as he could choose his own TV show (think it was ABC Kids iview). And because there wasn’t anyone else having their hair cut that morning, Izzy pulled up a chair in front of the other iPad!
They had some cool artwork on the walls and character capes for the kids to wear. The hairdresser finished his cut very quickly and then he got a bag of popcorn and a balloon which got a big thumbs up!
Located in a great spot right in front of The Mezz playground with a few coffee options nearby and a good burger place and pizzas right next door if you’re hungry.
I also saw on the brochure they do special needs appointments, pamper packages, glamour parties and hair braiding tutorials!
Open 9.30am – 5.30pm Monday to Friday and 9.00am – 5.00pm Saturdays. Sundays are reserved for party bookings and special needs appointments only.
