Effervescent Kids Sensory Sessions

Letting your child be a part of sensory play is an essential part of learning in these important early childhood years. From building nerve connections in their brain, supporting language development, building motor skills to learning how to problem solve, there really is some many reasons to provide sensory play for your little love.

However, not all of us are a fan of the mess so if that’s you (or you just want to meet some other lovely parents and a great place for your child to socialize), then head down to the Effervescent Kids Sensory sessions in Coogee.

Located at the Coogee Community Hall, it is a great venue for this class, with plenty of space, parking, water to fill up water bottles etc, and also has toileting facilities.

Every week they organise the most beautiful themed sensory classes, with us going to the jungle themed! And they really did put in a great effort to provide great learning stations for all ages and abilities to enjoy.

These sensory classes are aimed at children aged 0-4 years. The sessions run for an hour and a half, costing $7.50 for under 2’s, $15.00 for over 2’s and $25.00 for two children. I really do think it was worth the money for the amount of effort and the variety of things the children can do at their own pace and schedule. Food based sensory play, craft, bubbles, musical play and free play stations filled with chances to be imaginative are all the different types of play your child can be a part of to build a whole range of skills and learning opportunities.

At the end of the sessions, parents then meet outside at the park located right by the car park and enjoy a morning tea together. It really was such a special way to end a great morning, and man did my children sleep well afterwards!
