As December approaches, Perth’s calendar fills with Christmas carol events that range from massive productions to local community gatherings. While the concept of singing about snow and winter wonderlands might seem odd in 30-degree heat, these annual traditions have become a distinctive part of Perth’s summer culture. From professional performances to casual community sing-alongs, here’s our guide to where you can catch Christmas carols across the metropolitan area this season.

Whether you’re a dedicated carol enthusiast or simply seeking a festive night out, Perth’s carol scene offers something for everyone this December. While the traditional imagery of snow-covered churches and frosty evenings might feel distant in our Mediterranean climate, there’s something uniquely Perth about singing carols under the stars with a picnic rug and cold drinks in hand. Most events are family-friendly and many are free, making them an accessible way to connect with your local community and embrace the holiday spirit. Remember to check event websites for updated details, pack your picnic essentials, and don’t forget the battery-operated candles – it may be summer, but it wouldn’t be carols without a little light in the darkness.
