If you are looking for a fun, creative activity to do with the family or a group of friends, Cabernet & Canvas will have the class for you.
Cabernet & Canvas’ family painting classes are perfect for kids aged 8-12years old. They aren’t “drop & run” classes, an adult is required to stay and it’s quite a fun activity.
We went along to the Protea Blooms class during the school holidays. Cabernet & Canvas provide everything you need to complete your masterpiece- aprons, paint palette, different size brushes, water cup, pencils & rulers.
The instructions are clear, easy to follow & at a suitable pace that allows you to keep up but not feel rushed.
Colour mixing techniques and which brushes to use for which stage are explained along the way. The paint is water based so it is easy to clean off skin & clothes.
The painting is broken up into sections and there are 2 instructors also painting along with you. The instructors are more than happy to help you along the way if you are stuck or like me, can’t for the life of me paint clouds!
The classes run for about 90mins and at the half point there is a break which allows you to walk around and have a look at the other paintings. It’s fantastic seeing the different interpretations from everyone.
Once you’re finished just like the famous artists, you need to sign your name & decide where to display it!
I have now done 3 of their painting classes at the Coogee Beach Surf Club and have enjoyed everyone. I am in not way “arty” but have been very happy with the end results.
Cabernet & Canvas hold many events during the year throughout the Perth metro area and they have recently opened a studio in Myaree.
They not only include painting, they also offer Still Life drawing, cheeseboard resin pours and pot decorating.
Prices vary depending on the activity and depending on location include refreshments or dollars off a meal.
