Located just off the freeway in Jandakot, Urban Jungle Indoor Rock Climbing offers lead climbing, top-rope climbing, bouldering, speed climbing and abseiling – all in the one purposely built location. There is also a functional training gym and pro climbers training zone.
The sessions start off with clear instructions on how to wear the harness and a safety briefing on the correct way to attach the belay top rope climbing system and the lead climbing clips.
The holds for all climbing options are graded from beginner to expert, and they are clearly labelled on the walls, making it easy to pick your challenge.
The goal is to reach the top using the one colour hold for both hands and feet or as Ruby likes to do, just make it to the top as quick as you can using whichever gets there the fastest!
Belaying for your buddies is quite easy, but you must keep your eye on the climber to make sure the rope isn’t twisted, or there isn’t too much slack in the rope getting in the way of the climber. Belaying can be done for those 12 years and over. There are also 2 self-guiding climbs available which do not require a belayer. Just clip on the rope to your harness and away you go.
Urban Jungle Indoor Rock Climbing also offers Bouldering which, like rock climbing, is clearly graded for Beginners to Expert.
If your kids or family are looking for more than just a one-off session, Urban Jungle offers term classes weekdays.
For the 5-12 year olds there is the Wombat and Stone Monkeys Kids Club. Where as Punks in the Gym is aimed at the 12+ age groups. Kids are taught rope safety and climbing skills in a friendly and social setting.

With a functional training gym, a pro climbers training zone on the mezzanine floor, showers and toilet, Urban Jungle offers a training gym with a difference.
There are casual Adult and Child entry prices that include equipment hire or without if you have your own and there are also membership options.

Most importantly for the parents assisting with belaying or waiting for the birthday to finish, there is a coffee machine and great coffee on hand.
