⏰ Session Times & Entry:

Entry sessions are staggered throughout the day to make check-in a breeze. Once you’re inside, though, there’s no time limit—you’re free to enjoy the magic of Winter Fest until closing time at 6pm. Whether you’re skating, sliding, dancing, or sipping hot chocolate, there’s more than enough to keep everyone smiling all day.

❄️ What’s New in 2025?

This year, we were excited to explore some brand-new attractions that took the experience to the next level.

The Snowball Showdown was a massive hit with my feisty eight-year-old, who immediately rolled up his sleeves to mould the perfect snowballs and hurl them at the snowman targets, it was equal parts hilarious and competitive!

The newest crowd favourite? The Sub-Zero Silent Disco! Inside a giant glowing igloo, kids (and adults!) get to dance like no one’s watching, literally! Headphones on, tunes pumping, and a dazzling light show make this experience a unique addition to the Winter Fest lineup.

⛸️ Ice Skating:

As always, the main attraction for us was the ice skating rink. We made it our first stop again this year. The rink is designed to cater to all skill levels, and even beginners will feel confident thanks to the double-runner skates and free penguin skating aids.

My kids are now pretty confident (possibly too confident!) on the ice, and it was heartwarming to see their younger cousins following in their footsteps.

Children under five must be accompanied by an adult on the ice. If you want to join in, adult skating tickets can be purchased.

Rides, Slides & More

Once we’d warmed up on the rink, we made our way to the rides. With eight kids ride coupons and 4 adult ride coupons included, the kids had plenty of options to choose from, although there’s definitely some firm favourites when it comes to the rides!

This year’s rides include:

Dodgem Drift Cars

Dream Swinger

Runaway Train Roller Coaster

Fiesta Balloon

️ Storm

Taxi Jets

☕ Cup & Saucer

Jurassic Temple

After the rides, it was time for the snow slides, which are always a hit.

Falling snow adds a magical touch to the event, and of course, keep an eye out for Icewing the friendly dragon as you explore School’s Out Winter Fest!

Carnival Games

Before wrapping up our snow-stopping day, the kids tried their luck at carnival games. Game tokens and additional ride tokens are available for purchase.

This year’s games include:

Laughing Clowns

Fishing Pool

Rabbit Shooting Gallery

Lucky Numbers

Pick a Box

Water Bowls

Food & Rest Areas

When it’s time to recharge, you’ll find plenty of cosy seating areas throughout the venue. There’s something for every appetite, sweet treats, savoury bites, and coffee to keep the grown-ups going.

We grabbed hot donuts and coffee (a non-negotiable for me!), while the kids made a beeline for popcorn and fairy floss. You’ll also spot Chubby Dumpling nearby and the PCEC Café if you’re after something more substantial.

And of course, the kids couldn’t resist choosing a couple of showbags before we headed home, such a fun way to end the day.

Getting There

School’s Out Winter Fest is super easy to get to, located near the Elizabeth Quay Bus Port and Train Station. If you’re driving, there’s convenient parking available at the PCEC, or you can check the City of Perth website for details on participating car parks offering 3-hour free parking on weekends.
