Whats to love about skate parks?
Playgrounds with a skate park adjacent are fantastic for families with kids of all ages. Littler ones can play and cut loose, while older ones can practise their skills and socialise with friends. But skate parks aren’t just for big kids. Little ones who want to skate too have to start somewhere. So why not your local skate park? It’s a win for everyone!
In addition, we’ve added details of where playgrounds are close to local coffee shops, cafes and restaurants. Therefore you can grab a bite to eat before or after your play, or grab a takeaway coffee on the way. Don’t forget your reusable coffee mug!
The Eden Beach Lookout and Playspace is a brand new section of Eden Beach estate in Jindalee has just opened (Dec 2021) and it’s great for the older kids! Featuring a basketball court, rock climbing wall, parkour, skate/scooter ramps and a huge grassy area it’s a beautiful spot to spend a few hours. My kids loved the parkour, and the scooter ramps were a huge hit. There’s a few shaded picnic bench areas and also a bbq as well. There are no toilets, the closest toilets are located at Eden Beach Foreshore. Whilst not huge, this new play space is Read more…
Ready, set, go! The Harrisdale Skate and Scooter Park is a brilliant spot for children big and small to get active. The Heron Park Estate has created a scooter track, as well as a small skate park, and even basketball/football facilities – so remember to pack a ball too! The road-style scooter track, winds around a rope climbing frame. The lap begins at the start line, there are road markings, traffic signs, pedestrian crossings, pit stop area and of course a checked flag and podium for the winners. Little racers will love zooming around the track, especially riding over the Read more…

This new edition to the existing Mills Park Playspace and Skate Plaza is fully fenced and double gated which is also great for younger children. A good amount of the enclosed playground area is covered by shade sails and there are also a few seating options for parents too. The playground has a mix of play equipment, imaginative play elements and nature play. Local bird life has been referenced with the red-tailed black cockatoo feathers hand carved and painted on timber elements. Read more…
While the Wanneroo skate park has been established for a long time a children’s playground is a more recent addition. The park sits within the confines of the showgrounds, meaning it is secure for little runaways! I’m not sure if the playground colours of green and purple are a nod to the 1970’s Wanneroo Primary School colours, or just a happy accident, either way, it is a fun combo. The equipment features a curved slide, swings and a rowboat. There are a lot of ramps to run along and climbing frames. The whole playground is covered in shade sails to Read more…
Have you checked out Mills Park Skate Plaza? If you have children that love to skate, next time you’re in the area be sure to throw the skateboards and scooters in your car. The skate park is located at the brilliant Mills Park, where there’s also a HUGE play area, lots of grassed space to kick a footy and an excellent café (Fika on Brix) too. The Veterans Memorial Park Port Kennedy has something to suit the whole family, from tiny tots to teens! The large park includes two playgrounds, the new-ish Port Kennedy skate park and a memorial dedicated to our war veterans. The city of Rockingham’s largest skate park features lots of trails, bowls, ramps and an adjacent snake run. Though it’s very popular it’s large enough to ensure plenty of room.
