As a working mum, I know too well the distractions that come with working from home, whether it be the children, a new episode of Dr Phil or the unfinished housework constantly staring at me! Working from home can not only be unproductive, but it can also be lonely and expensive. Studio 64 solves all of those problems with the convenience of workspaces for hire and a fully qualified childcare centre onsite.
There are 7 co-working hot desks, 4 co-working bar spaces, 5 large offices and meeting rooms (layouts vary), an interview room, and a board/training room, all of which include access to tea, coffee and kitchen facilities, wifi, a photocopier, printer and scanner.
Studio 64 also has a separate hair beauty and massage room which you can have access to while you’re working or between appointments. You can even prearrange for your child to have their haircut too, wheater you are working onsite or not. You can book a preferred provider or have your own hairdresser visit. During my visit to Studio 64 I enjoyed a much-needed wash & blowdry from Lou – Hair to You, and a lovely hand massage from Zoe – Treat Mobile Beauty. Both ladies have a wealth of experience and come highly recommended from the team at Studio 64.
The Child Care & Early Learning facilities at Studio 64 are amazing, I particularly loved their indoor/outdoor space – the room is designed to create the feeling of being outdoors while still being inside, which means the children can play all day in an outdoor environment and not be restricted by the weather – during my visit the children were playing with water and bubbles. My boys especially liked the climbing space! Even the babies have access to a fully protected outdoor space which I thought was great.
The real outdoor space is very impressive as well, the nature-based play area includes a slide, concrete tunnel, a wooden teepee, balancing logs, a sandpit with a mud kitchen, as well as a track with balance bikes and scooters.
I also love that the centre takes full advantage of being in beautiful South Perth by regularly taking the children on pram walks to the foreshore in their 4/6 seater prams and day trips to Perth Zoo. A beautiful mural has been painted by students from Perth Modern School on one of the outdoor walls, the design is based from feedback the children had given of things they had seen while out on their walks.
Another service offered to parents is invitations to free group sessions with community specialists such as Behavioural Specialists, Nature Play WA, Paediatric Dietitians and more. The centre is open from 6:30am to 6:30pm Monday to Friday and licensed for 75 children from 6 weeks to 6 years. Parents can claim the Child Care Subsidy for reduced fees.
For parents working in the City or surrounds, there is a Park and Ride service, where you can simply park, drop the children off and catch the ferry or bus into the CBD. Parents do not need to be using any of the other services at Studio 64 to book their child into full-time, part-time of casual care.
