The historic Mundaring Hotel is found in the heart of the Perth Hills town, opposite the popular Mundaring Sculpture Park. The old pub has many different areas to sit and enjoy a pub meal after a play in the park, or visit to one of the many markets held in the area. It is also opposite the Railway Reserves Heritage Trail, aka the Pedal and Pint Trail, which links many local pubs and taverns. Why not take a wander, or bike ride, after a bite to eat?

The Mundaring Hotel is a good spot to chillax in a beer garden by a kids playground.

Other sitting options include a covered patio, or indoors in the lounge, or restaurant.

We enjoyed the autumn sunshine in the beer garden, grabbing a picnic table with umbrellas for shade. On rainy days, kids might like to take advantage of the activity/colouring packs which are for sale in the bar.

The kids were happy to play on the playground, though it is aimed at young children (they snuck over to the Sculpture Park too, for a play). The partially shaded play area is fenced on two sides. The sand based spot has two structures – a fort-like tunnel area with slide, as well as a climbing frame with attached swings, and monkey bars.

The menu includes traditional pub grub and daily specials, like a Sunday roast in cooler months. There is minimal table service outside, so order at the bar and your buzzer will go off when the food is ready to be picked up. We opted for a few share plates including pork belly, sweet potato fries, salt and pepper squid and arancini – all very tasty.

There’s a decent amount of choice and dietary options on the “Little MunDARLINGS” menu (correct in April ’25). Very cute!

The kiddos all ordered something different – nuggets, burger, and fish.

Oh and dogs are welcome too!

We enjoyed our visit to the Mundaring Hotel and found the food to be tasty. The playground kept the kids entertained while waiting for the food and allowed us to finish ours in peace too.

  1. […] The Mundaring hotel is found in the heart of Mundaring, conveniently opposite the Sculpture Park. The outdoor seating overlooks the playground, so if the weather is fine you can enjoy your meal outside while the kids play. Happy days! Read the Buggybuddys review here. […]
