If there’s one place my two year old son and I keep coming back to, it’s Little Play Town Mandurah. This family-owned gem opened just five months ago and it feels like a well-kept secret waiting to be discovered!
What makes Little Play Town so special is the imaginative role play opportunities it offers. My son LIVES for the construction area, where he insists we both suit up in yellow hi-vis vests and safety helmets before loading foam bricks into a mini wheelbarrow!
It’s been incredible watching his confidence grow – from staying close to me during our first visits to now enthusiastically joining other kids in pretend play. One recent highlight? Watching him “play doctor” with a stethoscope and thermometer while I sipped a flat white and chatted with the little girl’s mum. We both couldn’t stop smiling at the sweet interaction!
The 1.5 hour sessions are capped at 20 children, creating a calm, focused play environment, something I truly appreciate. It gives my son the freedom to explore every area without the chaos often found at larger play centres. And at just $10 per session for the rest of the year, it’s an absolute steal!
The 30-minute cleaning break after every session is another standout. Knowing the entire space is meticulously wiped down with low-tox cleaning products gives me so much peace of mind. The cleanliness and attention to detail here are unmatched (and as a self-proclaimed clean freak, I definitely notice and appreciate it ha ha!).
For parents, the onsite café is a dream. Whether you want to unwind with a barista-made coffee or join in the fun, the choice is yours. I usually do a bit of both, sneaking in a flat white break while watching my son dive into and thrive in the world of imaginative play.
With themed sensory play included in the price for select sessions each month, and staff who go above and beyond (even replaying my son’s favourite song on request), Little Play Town Mandurah is a must-visit. It’s also conveniently located next to Blossoming Bump, a baby boutique and midwifery clinic, making it a hub for all things family.
I can’t forget to mention the times I’ve shown up without socks (a total mum moment!). Thankfully, there are $2 socks on hand, and now I own the grooviest collection of brightly coloured socks!
Final note: Be prepared to be humming the super-catchy clean-up song long after you’ve left! You won’t regret booking a session!
