Get your eat-on at the Eaton! If you’re road-tripping to WA’s southwest and need a convenient and family-friendly lunch stop, Eaton Tavern is just 500m off the Forrest Highway and absolutely worth the small detour. This retro-inspired pub offers everything you need for a stress-free meal with the kiddos (even those hard to please tweens and teens!), combining delicious food with plenty of entertainment for all.
The diner-like dining room has a fun, nostalgic vibe, and the real highlight for kids is the dedicated arcade room.
Older kids will love playing games like air hockey, console stations (Rocket League, anyone?).
Plus, there’s retro arcade classics like Street Fighter.
Some of the games are free, while some do require a gold coin, so bring along your pocket money.
For the littlest travelers, there’s a shaded soft play area for toddlers just off the courtyard.
The kids’ menu has a solid variety of options, from nuggets and chips to fish n chips, cheeseburger, hotdog and a ragu bolognaise for a healthier choice. The cheesy hot dog was a big hit.
All meals come with a kids soft drink or juice. Plus, there’s colouring activities to keep the kids entertained at the table.
The biggest hit of our lunchtime? On Sundays, every kid’s meal comes with a free ice cream, which was the perfect way to end their meal on a (sugar) high note.
Meanwhile, while the kids were busy, we could relax and chat with friends. The Eaton’s menu is packed with pub favorites and options for all. If a classic parmi is your go-to, or perhaps a fresh salad, or juicy burger, the food here is sure to please. I really enjoyed their brisket, slaw and chips dish.
For parents, the Eaton Tavern strikes the perfect balance: happy, entertained kids and yummy meals for everyone. With its convenient location, friendly atmosphere, and focus on family fun, Eaton Tavern is a win-win for parents on the go and Bunbury locals. Make it your go-to stop for a relaxed and enjoyable lunch next time you’re traveling to the southwest!
