Western Australian Robotics Playoffs
Welcome to the exhilarating world of the Western Australian Robotics Playoffs (WARP).
โ Perth’s very own FIRST robotics offseason event, the Western Australian Robotics Playoffs is a pulse-racing, high-octane 3 v 3 robotics competition that will keep you on the edge of your seats. Not just a local event, but a mirror of the globally celebrated FIRST robotics competition, WARP offers Western Australian schools a unique and thrilling opportunity to participate in an international robotics challenge and gives members of the public a chance to watch the competition and have fun at the sideshow attractions. WARP is more than just a competition, it’s an arena where innovation, teamwork, and technical skills collide. It’s not just about the quest for victory, but the journey of discovery, invention, and collaboration. It’s a chance for our youth to tap into their potential, to learn and grow, to foster a spirit of teamwork, and to develop a passion for robotics and technology.
WARP is based on the FIRST Robotics Competition. Every year the challenge changes, releasing a new and exciting “game” in early January for students to design a robot for. The 2024 game “Crescendo” is a fast-paced arts themed challenge requiring teams to manipulate and score a donut shaped foam ring into different goals all while avoiding their opposition.
In addition to WARP, we will have our family fun Side Show Alley. Entertainment includes sheep shearing demonstrations, a cuddly animal farm, face painting, VR experiences, Lego building and food trucks. Shane from Channel 9โs Lego Masters will be hosting a build workshop on Sunday.
Entry, coffee and all activities are free. Fees apply for the food truck.
