The Berry Farm Margaret River

If you haven’t been to The Berry Farm, have you even been to Margaret River?! This very sweet spot is SO family friendly, there is not one, but three playgrounds, plus farm animal feeding and a handy play corner at the cellar door too. We stopped by for a coffee and trip to the cellar door, technically with a child in tow – though the teenager is now too cool for playgrounds!  There’s plenty of places to sit, indoors in the quaint cottage, or under a large patio, overlooking the lawns and playgrounds (one nature based, one traditional).

We popped by for a morning tea. The speciality here is a traditional Devonshire tea, with freshly baked scones, jam and cream looking very tempting. We were shortly heading to lunch, so opted for a coffee, and we shared a very generous and nutty sticky date pudding (also gluten free).

We enjoyed big cups of coffee, while the teenager enjoyed an iced chocolate.

More substantial meals can be ordered from the cafe, and there’s a dedicated kids’ menu.

We sat on the verandah of the more enclosed cottage garden area, packed with lush plants and shaded by large trees. There’s a third playground here for the kids to explore.

If you keep your eyes peeled, you’ll be sure to spot fairy wrens and more local birdlife.

After we sipped our last drop, we explored the vast grounds, there’s cows next to the playground.

A wooden, nature-based playground has plenty of opportunities to climb and explore, plus a teepee tunnel, slide, fireman’s pole and nest swing.

This playground, and the neighbouring traditional play equipment are within view from the patio and plenty of tables at the cafe.

A large chicken coup near to the cafe, and horses, sheep and lamas on the other side of the car park. You can buy a $3 bag of food to feed the chickens (and even an emu!), from the cafe, which little ones will love.

Be sure to browse the well-stocked cellar door. As well as tastings of the fruity liquors, you can try chutneys, jams and more. Plus, there’s plenty of souvenirs and gifts to treat yourself too.

This spot is also very family focused with a kids play corner.

Just one thing… in all my visits to the Berry Farm over the years, I’m still yet to see an actual berry! I’d love to know where they are grown. Be sure to check out The Berry Farm near Margaret River with your fam, next time you visit the region.
