Kalamunda’s Stirk Park was a favourite of mine, back in the 80s when I was growing up in the Perth Hills. The park has long been a popular location for mothers group get-togethers and family picnics. The snazzy new playground and skate park at Stirk Park has just opened (Nov 2023) after a long-awaited redevelopment. The adventure playground and skatepark are already a huge hit with hills families. Covering the old playground footprint and more, the new playground has more than tripled in size! Kalamunda History Village is Western Australia’s largest folk museum, showcasing unique Hills life and local industries. Located on the historic Upper Darling Range Railway Station site, visitors can explore heritage buildings including original railway stations, a 1905 schoolhouse, historic post offices, and settler’s cottages. Kalamunda Water Park is an exciting summer destination located at 38 Collins Road in the Perth Hills. The facility features a 50m eight-lane Olympic sized swimming pool, wading pool, toddlers pool, and two huge tube water slides.
