Zoo Experiences
Perth Zoo today is home a diverse animal collection of around 170 species and nearly 1200 animals. Perth Zoo exhibits their animals in ways that encourage natural animal behaviours. Visitors can also experience up close encounters. Meet kangaroos in the Australian Animal enclosure and meet “Bush Buddy’s Eye to Eye”, a plethora of Aussie animals. Other “Eye to Eye” experiences are available with Giraffes, Lemurs, the Elephants, and more.
Australian Wildlife
Get up close with the many wildlife experiences available in Perth! Cuddle with kangaroos and koalas at Caversham Wildlife Park and Cohunu Koala Park. Learn about reptiles at The West Australian Reptile Park located in the Swan Valley. Experience the opportunity to hold a snake or lizard. Head south to Peel Zoo, which is home to over 100 species of birds and animals, including some farm animals.
Farm Animals
Landsdale Farm and the Swan Valley Cuddly Animal Farm have introduced thousands of Perth children to their friendly farm animals. Feed the chickens, rabbits and guinea pigs by hand, or milk a goat or feed a lamb at Swan Valley Cuddly Animal farm. Explore the sensory garden, pet goats and sheep and hop on a train ride at Landsdale Farm.
Ecology
Explore Perth’s unique ecology with Herdsman Lake Wildlife Centre, Cockburn Wetlands Education Centre, and Piney Lakes Environmental Education Centre. Go for a night walk or scooping mini creatures in a lake. Build a bat box or learn about native birds in your area.
