While the Wanneroo skate park has been established for a long time a children’s playground is a more recent addition. The park sits within the confines of the showgrounds, meaning it is secure for little runaways! I’m not sure if the playground colours of green and purple are a nod to the 1970’s Wanneroo Primary School colours, or just a happy accident, either way, it is a fun combo. Robinson Reserve, Tuart Hill As of July 2019, Robinson Reserve in Tuart Hill has a new playground. Covered by shade sails, this play area is full of fun for kids from tots to teens. Miss 5 has been excitedly waiting for the new playground to open. So as soon as the fences came down we wandered over for a look. The impressive $1.5m The Edge Skatepark Calista is one of WA’s biggest skating facilities. The skatepark’s main features are a competition-level bowl, street section, beginner’s area (great for little ones on scooters), parkour obstacles and a basketball half-court. The Veterans Memorial Park Port Kennedy has something to suit the whole family, from tiny tots to teens!
