What’s great about parks with toilets?
Playgrounds and parks with toilets are a blessing when you’re toilet training! Many community parks are foregoing these facilities. However, if you’re in the middle of toilet-training or have a child with a tiny bladder, this may mean you only stay for an hour or so. Why not plan a longer play date? Find a park or playground with public toilets and make a morning or even a day or it!
In addition, we’ve added details of where playgrounds are close to local coffee shops, cafes and restaurants. Therefore you can grab a bite to eat before or after your play, or grab a takeaway coffee on the way. Don’t forget your reusable coffee mug!
Neil Hawkins Park in Joondalup is a park more suited to the under 5’s. The playground is partially enclosed and is quite compact and easy to keep track of little ones. It features play equipment in the guise of a train engine and its carriages with each carriage providing a different feature. The train engine houses a small slide which is great for crawlers and early walkers. The next two carriages provide seating areas which my kids love retreating into with their food stash and enjoying a picnic. The final carriage is a tunnel with small windows – great for Read more…

The Tom Simpson Park has a new playground (opened July 2018) and is a welcome addition to the grassy Mullaloo foreshore! The rusty, tired old metal play structure on the north end of the park has gone and now there’s a fun-tastic wooden structure, as well as a little nature and water play and a toddler area too. The playground is dominated by a large wooden fort-like structure, best for older kids, as all the ways to the top are via climbing nets. At the top, there is an enclosed tube slide that takes you back down to the sand. Read more…

As a mum of a busy 2-year-old toddler, I couldn’t be more thrilled with Joondalup Square playground, located opposite the gigantic Bunnings Warehouse. As an added bonus, the well thought out open-air play area is surrounded by eateries! Joondalup Square playground is shaded by two shade sails and is fully fenced and gated. There are 2 gates – one leads onto a pram ramp with a railing on either side (just another play item for my monkey), and the other has a couple of steps down – making the playground slightly sunken. The surface is softfall rubber (and interestingly they Read more…
Seacrest Park in Sorrento ticks a lot of boxes for parents and carers. Fully fenced playground – tick. Large range of playground equipment suitable for various ages – tick.
