In Augusta with the fam? You’ll want to visit the local bakery! If you’re on the lookout for a more “sit-down” vibe without losing that relaxed holiday feel, The Colourpatch is a must. Itโs a cafe, restaurant, and takeaway spot all rolled into one, right on the edge of the Hardy Inlet. The dining room has massive windows that look right out over the water, itโs a gorgeous view. We sat in the small alfresco area thatโs dog-friendly if youโve brought the fur-baby along.

The menu has plenty of choice with plenty of share plates, pizzas, and a solid kids’ menu.

The kids enjoyed their crumbed chicken and chips, it was a decent portion that would satisfy under 12s.

They even provide colouring-in sheets and plenty of pencils to keep the grommets busy.

Leaving you to enjoy the view, with a cocktail or mocktail.

As for the adults, we enjoyed delicious crisp fried squid topped with gochujang mayo, ginger-sweet chili, and atjar pickles.

And then a very tasty BBQ charred chicken pizza with mozzarella and pickled onions.

We visited during the busy summer holidays period, service was good, though minimal, as ordering is via the bar. The Colourpatch is easily one of the best dining spots in town, whether youโre grabbing a quick takeaway to eat on the grass or settling in for a long brunch, lunch or dinner.
