Swings and Roundabouts

Here at Buggybuddys, we LOVE Swings and Roundabouts! Usually, we’re talking about the playground type, but if you find yourself in the Margaret River region, be sure to swing by the popular winery of the same name. Swings and Roundabouts is found a hop, skip and jump from Yallingup, on the winding Caves Road. It’s a short drive from Yallingup Maze & Mini Golf too.

Swings and Roundabouts

The venue ticks many boxes, including being a very family-friendly winery and restaurant. There’s a massive playground, expansive lawns, good vibes and even swings for the grown ups (more on that in a sec).

Swings and Roundabouts

Swings and Roundabouts’ fab nature-themed playground will keep the kids entertained for hours! Suitable for toddlers, up to tweens – there’s plenty of features to suit all ages.

Themed with plenty of wine barrel features and a cute grapevine mural, it’s a huge space for kids to explore, with some shade.

There’s a couple of tree house-style wooden forts, boats, a seesaw, spinning barrel, fireman’s pole, lots of climbing, swings (of course), but curiously, no roundabout *wink*.

The pretty alfresco ding area is dotted with tables, many can be booked right next to the playground.

There is plenty of outdoor seating away from the play area too, if you’d prefer a little peace with your pinot!

Also, in keeping with its name, you’ll find a very funky covered alfresco dining area that features swings for chairs. The adults will love this.

If you find the weather isn’t sunny and warm, the indoor dining is just as spacious, catering well for large groups.

The menu predominantly features wood-fired pizza. There’s plenty of topping to choose from. On our table, the meatlovers-style Italian pizza went down a treat. The crisp, yet fluffy bases are hand stretched in the kitchen.

Not into pizza? There’s an interesting line up of share plates too, bursting with fresh flavours. I was pleased to see lots of GF options and I chose Pressed Duck with fennel, woodfired honey peaches (yum!), a green pea puree, pistachios, and water cress. I also loved the roasted curried cauliflower with pine nuts and sultanas.

On the kid’s menu there’s a kids Margherita pizza, chicken nuggets and chips, plus a healthy option “Picnic Platter” with fruit, ham, cheese and crackers.

The menu doubles as a handy puzzle and colouring page too. Double sided, so it will keep kids occupied at the table for a while.

And you’ll just HAVE to finish lunch with a scoop of artisan ice cream from their kiosk.

Swings and Roundabouts

Swings and Roundabouts is a favourite place to book for lunch when visiting the Margaret River region with kids in tow.

During busy times (like school holidays) we’d recommend booking online before you visit. Walk-ins may be accepted, though the popularity of the venue means there can be a wait for a table. All of us, Miss 8, the tweens, the teenager and the adults all thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at Swings, and would absolutely return.

Find Swings and Roundabouts at 2807 Caves Rd, Yallingup.
